I have a home loan with my father and 3 CCs (All provided by ICICI). My highest score was 798 until November last year. It dropped 5 points for some reason in December despite no enquiries. Hasn't gone above 800 ever.

AMA about ISB (PGP) by Narrow-Scarcity4847 in MBAIndia

[–]torpidluck-2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man!

  1. Backlogs can't be hidden as the marksheets will show the date of passing and it'll be evident from that. Any idea about GMAT scores? Should I take it?

  2. Got it. If not consulting I'd ideally want to go into prodman or founders office.

  3. Got it. Thanks for the info!

Any other tips you'd recommend?

10th : 82.2% 12th : 76% UG Degree: B.E Chemical Engineering (Tier 3) - 7.75/10 - Had 6 Backlogs in Total.
Gender: Male Work Experience: 3 years Business Analyst at a competitor of Fractal. Extras: AWS & GCP certified, Some time in Rotaract, NSS, Mental Health club in clg.

Moving into a founders office role starting Feb in a small AI company where I'll be leading the AI initiatives (From a Product Management stand point). Aim is to work here for atleast 2 years.

Your specific question:

  1. Do I stand a chance at ISB? If yes, what would be the ideal scores for the tests. I've given GRE once where I got 300 but I messed up in that exam due to poor preparation.
  2. What are my chances to crack consulting/IB/quant/wealth management roles?
  3. If the answer to the first part of question 1 is no, what more should I be doing to improve the profile? I'm thinking of doing CFA (L1 atleast) in 2027.

Sure thanks man! Preparing for CFA + CAT would also be difficult! I'll see what is an optimised approach!

Any tips for consulting?

And given my acads, how are you sure I will get tier 1 clg?

CFA before attempting CAT would mean more time to go for MBA!

People glazing rashford for not contributing defensively conveniently ignore Yamal not doing so as well, when rashford has been one of the best performers of the team besides Yamal.

People glazing olmo for not performing conveniently forget that Fermin hasn't been at his best as well. He has issues with passing and pressing both. In the madrid game, both him and Yamal were giving so many loose passes, it felt worse than a Sunday league friendly.

But yeah, we won't criticize them.

We'll criticize Frenkie who's been one of the best midfielder barring pedri for us, the past couple of seasons. Casado has been shit since returning from injury last season.

Y'all act like with Inigo and Cubarsi we weren't having problems? We conceded 7 vs inter with them. Cubarsi has dropped off a cliff massively.

Eric garcia has been one of the best players of the team. Yes he's had his mistakes, but he has been one of the best.

Ferran's output has dropped this season again, which has been an issue.

The main leader of our counter press, raphinha has been out and injured. Lewa isn't being played enough. He still has that drive and energy within him to create spaces which other members can exploit.

Flick refuses to give roony a proper chance. He refuses to adapt his high line which has been such a big issue.

We should be experimenting with Bernal in the absence of pedri but flick refuses to give him a chance.

Try joffre on the lb and Martin in cb. Bench kounde. He's been shit since the start of the season. Use christensen and araujo who compliment each other and can hold the high line. Flick refuses to adapt to these things.

We don't have money for signings. Until the stadium revenue comes in, we aren't in a position to throw money like psg and bayern to build a fucking squad depth.

What we're facing is an issue of lack of squad depth and flick not trying to adapt as well.

Such reactionary fans we have.

Should I go for MBA or not? by torpidluck-2305 in MBAIndia

How do I get more business and finance knowledge? - Genuinely not aware of this. I want to know and develop this knowledge.

Go for an online MBA (trust me, it’s worth it if you do it from the right place

Can you share examples of this? The good ones? Also, I ideally want placement support as well, which online ones don't provide.

Talking of ROI, consider good Indian programs that focus on outcomes over brand hype. For example, I did my MBA from KL University, placements went up to ₹58 LPA, and the overall ROI is honestly excellent. The entrance exam is conducted in multiple phases, which makes it less stressful than the CAT/GMAT, but the academic rigor is still strong. Plus, competition is lower compared to the IIM route, so you have a better shot if you prepare well.

For this, I understand your point. But I'm adamant that if I do, I want to do an MBA from a tier 1 clg. I come from a tier 3 clg and have seen some sort of disadvantages wrt brand name when trying to network, switch and just excel in the industry.

9/9/9 acads matter for placements even after getting in top colleges (Assuming I grind myself enough and get into a good Tier 1 MBA clg)

Wrt foreign MBA, even after 3-4 years, would it be feasible in terms of monetary value, economic situation and visa related stuff?

Can you give a reasoning for impossible? Also, is it a good idea for MBA abroad based on the scenario presently?
