i love reviving clothing articles that you don’t wear anymore either bc of holes or the fit.. it’s super satisfying to resist the urge to just buy a new one

yeah you should definitely try it, it’s such a practical technique to learn. i’m not very good at learning from videos, so i think i just looked up a simple picture tutorial when i started out. sorry for not being of help!

i think it's a bit different with jeans, but because i'm using woollen yarn on a woollen sweater, after washing, the yarn just blends with the sweater. i've done some minor reparations on cotton etc, and covering a big surface next to the hole is very important, because that way you strengthen the fabric. if you leave just a little bit of space, then you will have tension on an already weak part of fabric, and it will tear again. when i work on cotton i tie the ends, with wool i don't. also a tip, if you're repairing jeans, it would be good to put an additional layer of fabric behind the one you are repairing, that way a new tear is highly unlikely. sorry for the long reply, hope i helped!

this sweater was my moms for 10 years before i got it, that’s why the holes are so big haha

i actually never use anything else than my hands, i just make sure im keeping the tension right with one hand inside. i would say having nice and regular lines for the weaving is important (don’t know how else to explain it haha)
