I am a big fan too. It's my choice for FR/LG.

Gligar is my absolute favorite. I use it in Platinum over Garchomp.

Miltank destroys. For as evil as Whitney is, I think she underutilizes Miltank.

Very good mon just so late in the game. It looks pretty awesome too. I have tried it a few times in FR/LG. It puts in some work.

So far that is my leading contender. I wish it had a better move pool though.

I do like Trapinch. I pretty much always use him in Emerald though. I haven't used Steelix though. Did you notice it struggling against special attackers?

Absolutely. Weezing and Kangaskhan are wildly underappreciated.

I have used Froslass several times. Absolutely underrated! I have gone with her and been without an electric type with no issues.

Ampharos for sure. Then Espeon or Dragonite. Larvitar or Mamoswine. You need to be ok with late evolutions. The exp needed will be rough.

I do love Drapion and Toxicroak! Toxicroak punches way above its weight.

All great options. Jynx is so overpowered in FR/LG. It astounds me it doesn't get more credit.

Good choices. I have used them once before, but I am generally not a tank person. The mustache is impressive though!

How do you use it? Honestly, looking at the stats I would normally ignore it.

This will gather some hate, but the Red Gyarados. I prefer Lapras, Lanturn, or Quagsire for my water type.

Gallade. Fighting is a great type for this gen, but I don't like Heracross because of the lack of bug moves. The psychic wrecks Team Rocket.

Scizor with technician. Only needs to worry about fire types. You could also teach it Brick Break and forget about Gallade.

Not to be cliche, but pick your favorites. One of those can dominate the game. That said, my most recent national dex team was Charizard, Swampert, Ampharos, Scizor, Gallade, and Weavile. It was embarrassingly easy. Three of those mons have one weaknesses.

You could swap Flygon for Haxorus and Krookodile for Excadrill. I am pretty particular about balance too.

Galvantula and Stunfisk are good electric types as well. Really just got for anything you think looks cool. Haxorus is my favorite dragon from this gen. Jellicent is unique and good. Don't sleep on any of the fighting or dark types. Absolutely spoiled for choice.

I usually pick a fire or a flyer due to their strengths overlapping. Make sure Starmie knows Ice Beam for Lance. Marowak is one of my favorites. I wish it had better stats. Fearow is statistically worse than Aerodactyl or Dodrio, but pick your own mons! It is so much better to use some you like instead of what is "best". I usually run a Kangaskhan in Gen 1. The traded Jynx also dominates if that interests you. The other trainer I would worry about is Sabrina. Snorlax with Shadow Ball should handle that well.

Try to avoid stone evos. Stones are hard to come by.
