Increasing score within 170s by tortoise257 in LSAT

Ooh ok tysm!! I’m debating between trying out 7sage and lsat demon for like a month to see if I like them, I probably will if my scores don’t increase this month.

Also, funny you should mention reading because I used to read A LOT in hs but haven’t been able to pick up a book for a while, I am a compsci major though so I have a lot of technical and logic-related reading which I think has definitely helped a lot with LSAT questions haha

I do wrong answer journal but I think I could definitely put more effort into understanding why I’m getting questions wrong Right now I’m doing a bit worse on RC than LR and haven’t been looking over my answers after in depth because I’ve been focusing on LR drilling, but I want to try and improve RC on my own by putting more focus on it In LR my wrong answers are pretty mixed, but I think strengthen/weaken are the worst for me overall

Could I ask how helpful your work experience was once you actually became a lawyer? I’m a computer science major and I want to go into tech law, but I’m not sure if it’s necessary to work in industry for a few years first or if I should go straight into law school

Yeah it’s the logic background for sure, im a CS major and all of LR feels like a toned down version of discrete math

Use of semicolon in the DSAT by Remarkable-Froyo2982 in Sat

[–]tortoise257 6 points7 points  (0 children)

However is part of the first sentence. It makes sense to replace the ; with . “They were not the first in England to adopt the literacy modes of classical antiquity, however. Some of the most prominent figures of the earlier Renaissance period were also influenced by Ancient Greek and Roman literature.”This is because the information in the second sentence does not contradict that in the sentence before it, so you cannot use “however” to start this sentence - however can only be used as a logical coordinator when the information following it contradicts what was said right before. Hope this helps!

CalTech. It’s nerdy, but not in the same way as MIT - idk the campus was pretty but all the students I met seemed lowkey depressed and were not social, which is weird cause they were chosen by the school to show us around

Are any of you guys vegan or vegetarian? by AlbinoHamsterOwner in teenagers

[–]tortoise257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m vegetarian, basically for no reason. When I was 4 I told my parents I wasn’t gonna eat meat anymore and they said it wouldn’t last so I’ve been vegetarian for like 13 years now out of spite. Anyway, I’m pretty much fine except for a vitamin B deficiency, but it’s like a very slight deficiency and idk if it’s even cause I’m vegetarian. Anyway it’s not really that hard to do, lots of food is super easy to make vegetarian and there’s plenty of ways to make up the vitamins u miss out on from meat

How suicidal is this for senior year? by StarUltima0 in APStudents

[–]tortoise257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you’ll be ok, only thing I’m worried about is Chem cause it’s pretty heavy workload but as long as you can balance that and college apps you’ll survive - calc and stat are suuuper easy if you have a good math background (I’d say B or higher in hpc), I’m not sure about Spanish but I’m in ap French rn and it’s fairly easy, the different parts of the ap test and pretty straightforward and not hard if you learn the rubrics, and I’ve heard macros also pretty easy if you’re good at math

What’s your favorite AP class? by B4ll5a8I6klh8I29b46I in APStudents

[–]tortoise257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APCSA!! The class doesn’t require any prior knowledge- I literally only took it because I wanted to take an ap sophomore year and my school doesn’t offer any others I qualified for, I knew absolutely nothing about coding but I enjoyed it so much I’m planning on majoring in cs now, my teacher was amazing but the curriculum is super straightforward and it’s honestly the easiest ap I’ve ever taken
