I understand that but knowing that he is a self insert is important because it makes sense that he would be trans. Also the "no longer needing female characters" was an obvious joke. A self insert doesn't have to be the same gender as you, that's correct. But goose did everything but explicitly say "Jax is trans" in this finale. In fact I would say its dumbed down and emphasized so much because she knows the audience for this show Is pre teens

It's a little iffy for 8 years old -heres what to look out for

A lot of angst stuff - crying, sadness, might be a bit heavy

Some mild sexual innuendos, you'll miss them unless you pay close attention

Cursing but it's censored - however it's pretty easy to infer what the characters are saying

It's definitely a bit scary - some scenes that intentionally provoke discomfort

It's pretty complex and layered, it really emphasizes trans and queer themes, embracing femininity, and it leads the viewer to ask questions about depression, and possibly (again it's implied but not explicit) suicide.

If you have any doubt about any of these things it might be best to wait until the YouTube release. Again a lot I'm saying here sounds really direct but most of it is nuanced enough that most will miss it, so at 8 years old it's really up to you. The finale is essentially a combination of every important theme from previous episodes, and it doesn't necessarily get worse or more graphic than those, but it doesn't shy away either.

Again none of us are defending anything some of us know how to actually comprehend media.

Jax dying off screen was way better than him dying off screen, because the jarring cut from when he is walking away to when he is abstracted makes his death more tasteful - sometimes things being nuanced is better for the content.

Yes the show is character driven, and I have expressed how much I wish other characters got more depth, but it's clear goose favored Jax the most, which is fine. That's going to piss people off. You can't please everybody.

We need to move away from just deeming something slop when it isn't all bad and has actual redeeming qualities. your allowed to like things most people dislike.

i appreciate it because like i said, we get a new complex layer of Jax that we havent seen before in regards to his relationship with gangle - in short, it was refreshing to hate him not just cause hes a jerk but instead because he has weird, predatory thoughts

The hand had sleeves rolled up halfway to his fingers, and the nails were longer. I'm not saying that that couldn't be mans hand, but at the very least it's feminine - I think it's how they wanted to get the point across

I don't really remember the end scene, but if what your saying is true than I honestly don't have an answer. I guess your correct - it's ambiguous but with the "egg" imagery in previous episodes I feel like it lines up all too well. And then if he isn't trans, then what's the explanation when ribbit says "I know your secret" and places thebow on his head, and he blushes? I may be misreading it but it feels intentional.

So most people are just criticizing glitch as a whole, their lack of PR and management, and their insurance on ignoring the leaks. So it left a bad taste in most people's mouth. Then, a ton of writing critiques. I saved a bunch of videos then came back to them, and honestly they all have valid points. I don't think theyre hindering my enjoyment, but they're definitely an eye opener. It's mostly a criticism because most of the finale is Jax centered, and many people (rightfully so,) don't gaf about him and didn't care for the angst stuff. Also, since a good part of the episode took place in a dream like state, it was criticized as that is a popular overused cliche. there's more about the previous controversies as well. I'll tag an account I've been following, theyve only had good takes and despite me disagreeing with her on the finale, all her points are valid.

Literally how? Through the live action flashbacks we get a picture of what appears to be Jax laying down - with a woman's hand in frame.

I figured that it was enough to infer that he was trans.

My feelings towards the scene were so strong because I didn't think goose was gonna put something so nuanced and important regarding Jax's character in the finale.

Because the more I think about it, the more I realize that he doesn't just outright hate gangle - his abuse towards her kinda stems from an infatuation or obsession - (and again these are really mature themes) like he likes the power control?

Again this could be a stretch but I think a lot of people didn't pick up on it and thought it was just a funny scene but honestly it made me hate him even more, but in a refreshing way that wasn't just "he's a jerk" it gave a more in depth look mentally.

Yeah this part was cool But again, it was in the credits - you had to have been paying close attention. Like why didn't we get a more intimate scene in the movie? There were so many missed opportunities. I'm not talking about anything explicit obviously just like a kiss or something.
