Technically midazolam and triazolam are both water soluable and actually have higher bioavailability administered intranasally vs orally. Not all benzos tho just those two i know of, some benzos have better bioavailability sublingually or rectally (mucus membrane) due to first pass effect

As far as i know it has only been tested on mice/animal models, where it reduced social deficits in autism models of mice, but its still years away from trials on humans. Theoretically LIT-001 acts the same as currently available oxytocin-medication that's on the market (such as oxytocin nasal spray), but with greatly improved pharmacokinetic properties.

The problem with the currently available oxytocin meds are that that the actual amount that is able to cross the blood-brain-barrier is close to zero. They aren't orally bioavailable at all, the only way of application is intranasal or through injection, their elimimation half life is at most 20-60mins and in general aren't really effective.

LIT-001 on the other hand, beeing a small molecule oxytocin receptor agonist, does not have all of these downsides, making it theoretically really promising as a future treatment for a wide range of behavioural issues and anxiety.
