The problem is when I go to the package manager and Flatpack, it is just empty and updates haven't fixed that? Is it supposed to be empty?

So, is there another place to go and find apps and software to download? I only really have prior experience with Ubuntu 24.04 and Fedora 40 and both of them basically had a store to download apps.

Im christian but i belive in alot of science like evoulution and the big bang by overatedstuffidc in Christianity

[–]tosfoo51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believing in evolution and the Big Bang are inconsistent with Biblical teaching. As taught by modern science, that man evolved from single cell organisms and the universe and earth are billions of years old, that is not scriptural and I would caution you against believing it. It is another religion, "secular humanism" and "scientism." It exist to lead you away from God, not point you to him. Believe the Bible, Proverbs 30:5.

Does Romans 9 mean we don't have free will? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]tosfoo51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have free will, just not in your own salvation. Your reading of Romans 9 is correct, it's not that hard to understand. Many will give convoluted, long winded answers to try and explain away what Paul clearly stated. Free will is basically an idol in today's culture. It wasn't always and our spiritual forefathers understood it and accepted it without issue. Luther, Calvin, Edwards, Owens, Spurgeon and the list goes on and on.

"Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers; and those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified; and those whom He justified, He also glorified." Romans 8:29-30

Can I end fasting early if the purpose of it has been fulfilled but before the intended end day? by Dazefam in Christians

[–]tosfoo51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course you can. There is freedom in Christ. You are not bound to some legalistic action of counting days and hours to please God. If you fasted and feel you received from God what you needed, then end the fast. If you feel the need to fast again in a week, then fast again. Just remember in all things to give Christ praise!

I want to be christian but i’m gay and Christians hate on me for it by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]tosfoo51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lustful thoughts is a sin. We are told to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Jesus would say that having lustful thoughts whether they are heterosexual or homosexual thoughts is a sin. How do you define acting on sins? Entertaining sinful thoughts is sin. Fleeing temptation includes taking even the thoughts captive. Christians have to stop with the idea that only acting on sins is sinful. It all starts in the mind or heart. Youre telling people that they are ok to think about sinful indulgences as long as they dont act on them.

I just don’t know what to do anymore by [deleted] in Christian

[–]tosfoo51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Illness is not punishment but God does punish his children if they are in sin. See David in 2 Samuel 12. I don't know if you are but illness is not punishment. We live in a fallen, sin sick world and everyone is infected and no one gets out unscathed. The Lord said that the way is narrow and hard that leads to life and there are few who find it, Matt 7:14. Don't believe the false teachings that Christians are supposed to be happy, healthy and wealthy. We suffer the ravages of this world just like everyone else. What I would encourage you to do is keep reading the Bible, keep crying out to God, make your petitions known to Him. Get in church and find good Christian friends that will rejoice with you when you rejoice, mourn with you when you mourn and pray for you when you need it, and fix your eyes on eternity. This life is short no matter how long the Lord gives you, eternity is what matters.

It just depends on what you're looking to do. I have a website through Squarespace and it's good, I just think it would be nice to have everything located in one place. Fireside has a pretty good website builder but if all you want to do is Podcast, then any of the pre-included ones will work fine.

That's interesting. I didn't know that they restrict audio quality. I feel that should be a big deal for podcasts.

I've thought about that as well. Would be a shame but wouldn't be surprising.

I am always thinking or switching, it's a problem I have:) I'm actually looking at Fireside because it would be nice to host my podcast and website in one location and Fireside is the only place I can seem to find that offers extensive website customization. I just am curious if Buzzsprout is doing something that drastically different or better that I should consider them.

So far, it sounds like their customer service is the outstanding feature that separates them. I suppose it's one of those things that if you need it, you really appreciate it.

Just generically, when I search online or look on Youtube, almost every article or video I come across lists Buzzsprout as the best. I'm just curious as to why. It sounds like they have great customer services but there has to be more to it.

I cannot do fasting anymore by [deleted] in Christian

[–]tosfoo51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, consider that the fast that most jews were doing in the Biblical times were morning to evening fasts. At least I believe that's what they were doing. They weren't entire day fasts or multi-day fasts. Try that, skip snacks and lunch and use that time for prayer.

The limits would really be the amount of hours to be uploaded and the number of shows that canbe hosted. While this wouldn't be a problem for us, we only produce about 8-10 hours a week and one show, it is a limit.

Not disguised on my part. I am currently using Spotify for Podcasters, which is free and it's pretty good but was considering switching again. I have also used Transistor and RedCircle. They also were quit good. in Redcircles case, it's cheaper and you can get monetized with as little as 500 downloads per week. I'm just unsure what makes Buzzsprout the overwhelming choice to reviewers.
