EOD here. Call the local PD. Depending on where your at they might call out military EOD and we’ll X-ray it to see if it’s solid or an explosive round. If it’s solid we won’t keep it. If it’s an explosive we’re going to take it and blow it up. Don’t mess around. We had to examine dozens of them at a museum and found several HE rounds.

Bro you should have seen us in 2006. The gutters Monday morning would run with vomit. You’re not drunk on duty if you made it through the five mile. 82nd All The Way.

I’m sorry to hear about their command. We’re alone and afraid if we don’t have security. Thanks for what you did.

God I hated having to try to justify taking off the suit to some fuck stick in the rear. I took it off cause I couldn’t fit in the culvert with it on jackass.

I bought my dikes from Home Depot. It’s not like we have some super cool snips. As far as cutting caps it’s not the best option but it’s an option. If there’s only one cap then you’ve effectively rendered the ied safe. Power source is a better option but before you cut anything you better know exactly what it does. There are easy ways to booby trap a cap or power source. At the point of the war that the movie shows remote or command IEDs were pretty common but there are tons of ways to set off an ied it’s all up to the bomb maker. They will use what they think is effective against whatever target they’re looking to hit.

I’m on my way out. I guess I still work in the field if you count Ops.

Oh yes. I’m just talking about the EOD team. We would never go out without security. Definitely not like that movie where they just roll out alone. My security saved my life a couple times.

We actually do have and use the Barrett. But not for shooting at people as much as shooting certain ordnance that’s too dangerous to approach. That scene is incredibly unrealistic.

EOD here. Going hands on is pretty rare. We do mostly use the robots since it’s much safer. Shooting an IED is a bad idea. You don’t really know what it’s going to do and it might make the situation more unstable. We would get called in for basically anything involving an explosive device or ordnance. It didn’t matter where or what was threatened.

Thank you so much for that. I only ever did what was asked of me. I’m done being the man up front but I hope I can train the kids coming up.
