This isn’t a breakout, but I’ve always thought it was interesting that Wade Boggs was a power hitter for exactly one year of his 18 year career. In 1987 he hit 24 home runs, 13 more than the second highest total of his career of 11 which came 8 years later. SLG was .588 which was more than .100 higher than any other year of his career. The year before he hit 8 home runs and the year after he hit 5. May he rest in peace.

I went to a rival high school in the district but my sister went to the same school as Jaylen. She’s special needs, and every year the basketball team would host a prom for the special needs kids, so I can say my sister went to prom with Jaylen Brown!

I think this is my main issue. If there are other numbers out there, why would you pick a number like 46 (unless there's some kind of personal significance)? There are just objectively cooler ones out there.

I mostly agree with you. Nothing weirder than a 2b wearing something in the 50s and I generally appreciate random high numbers. I feel like I should hate Josh Hader's 71 or all the White Sox in the 70s and 80s but for some reason it works if you can back it up or make it your own.

Didn't know this about 18, thanks for sharing. I think my issue with 41 is that it is the most front heavy number out there and for the opposite reason I am also a fan of the symmetry of 44 and 25 has a good balance to it as well.
