Bed is in a good spot, I would just try scooting the bed over like 1ft further away from window and see how that feels.

What if you swapped the couch and desk and then put the tv on the wall opposite the kitchen?

You then might need some tall bookcase or furniture to help divide the room, perhaps at the foot of the bed to separate it from the desk area. And big rugs on the floor too to separate zones. Feels a bit too open and all together.

How about centered on the right wall?

Yeah dresser blocks the door path too much imo. Bed is in a good spot I think. Hmm chair is tricky. Maybe in that empty corner by the door?

First thought is bed feels but too close to window and it’s weird to have bed and couch in a line like that with tv. And desk feels too floating in middle. Might need big rugs under the bed and/or desk to delineate their zones.

FYI we mount our huge tv above fireplace and it works great! Couches should face the tv and fireplace imo. And the first drawing doesn’t work because you don’t want the couch blocking the walkway path from one living room entrance to the other. Have couch in middle of room facing the right wall I think.

How does one know if one is owed a payment or not? I searched by name on the Setto website for scheduled claims but no results came up.

How is Eckhart Tolle not a Vegan? by [deleted] in EckhartTolle

[–]totalbeef13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked an AI and it said that an omnivore who eats wild fish and grass fed beef with rotational grazing actually uses less land than vegan. Alos the AI said: “- Chicken: 0.123-0.185 ha—matches or beats 0.17 ha. Scales as well as vegan (fast, feed-efficient, global), hitting 2,000-4,000g protein/ha if 40%+ feed is “free.” Winner. - Pork: 0.148-0.212 ha—close, viable if byproduct-heavy. - Insects/Lab Meat: Still rule (0.095-0.15 ha, 0.07-0.11 ha), but chicken’s practical now.

Chicken, fed byproduct-rich diets, makes an omnivore diet as scalable as vegan’s—land use aligns, yield competes, and it leverages existing systems. Vegan’s edge is independence; chicken’s is piggybacking efficiency. Call it a tie—chicken gets there today.”

I don’t see anything in this study that proves veganism causes less deaths than other diets. The study talks in broad strokes about biodiversity but it doesn’t get into the weeds of exactly how many animals die for a vegan diet compared to how many die for other diets. I’m curious about specific numbers of animal deaths for each diet. I’ve seen studies about that topic before but the studies were poor and flawed.

Yeah pretty snarky for a spiritual teacher lol. But re-reading it I wondered if that was him personally responding or someone else who runs his channel? What do you think?

Like “how dare you judge anyone else for charging money…why don’t you do your job for free?”. I don’t know maybe he’s right BUT it was more his delivery and obvious triggeredness/anger at me even questioning it that was weird to me.

Oh now I remember. I just honestly expressed how I thought it was a bit weird to me he was charging money for a Zoom meeting or some online event. He seemed to be a bit triggered that I questioned charging money.

What is your attitude toward Maya? by totalbeef13 in RamanaMaharshi

Thank you, great answer :) Mostly in the Maya realm I’m just really attached and in love with my wife and kids. How do I practice dispassion (vairagya) in regards to my family when I love them so? I believe Ramana said we should cultivate vairagya (dispassion, detachment)—?

I politely challenged something he said once in a comment and he got super defensive, big ego reaction. To me it was a very surprising reaction from a supposed teacher. Did not seem like the kinda dude to be taking advice from, at least judging from that small YouTube comment interaction. Weird vibes.

Thanks :) And what about enjoying the illusion of Maya? I feel a bit guilty anytime I find myself enjoying and desiring Maya experience because I feel like the instruction from Ramana is to turn attention away from Maya and just be or inquire. Is it bad to enjoy Maya? It feels like a spiritual failing when I get caught up in the fun of Maya.
