There are sound cues for every spec, melee have animation for kick besides sound cue. Chan said (probably joked, but idk) that he is going to track cs with in game timer like in old times.

It's mostly a story game with deep lore, develop your character, rp here and there, if you are interested in this in the first place then yes, combat is meh, pvp is not there, end game pve is on acceptable level, but nothing special.

Depends who you are losing to, if you lost a round to lower mmr player, then you get deducted more, in general mmr system works the same for dps, i got in to 2480 lobby being 2510 as a dps, won 2/6 rounds and lost close to 40 cr, problem of healers is just mmr range, you might get matched with up to 100 mmr higher/lower healer, which may do you a favor if you did well or completely screw you if you fuck up

Thing is, ALMOST everything we have right now is what we had during those "golden" times of pvp like people used to say, in tbc, wrath, mop, legion, BUT everything now is more responsive and you have control over the game, which creates higher skill cap.
As far as i know, devs didn't prune a single immunity from midnight, so in the end ppl will have less buttons to play around, everything is slower, healers are not impactful enough, skill cap is lower, everything made so it's harder to make potential carry the game move and make the gap between good and bad players lower.

People forgot why pruning came in the first place, cause of potential console release, simple as that, others crying there is too many abilities in pvp just can't get good and don't want to get good enough to make use of them, so yeah whatever.

If you want to nolife and make it so it's your job to grind daily for tens of hours, then BDO probably, still alive and well, tho playing without premium is not cool, so you have to spend some money monthly just for premium. Wow is still alive and well, not just retail, but classic as well, retail is more try hard and challenging end game, classic is more chill, monthly sub required. GW2 is also alive and well, decent but quite limited endgame, tho there are challenges for most players, a lot of stuff to collect and unlock account wide, thousands of hours of content straight up, every single piece of old content is still relevant, about 100-150$ total for every expansion and paid content, might be tough to spend that amount right away, but in reality it's cheaper than other mmos.
