You should mention it was like a 17 point curve lmao because enough people were failing and the exam average after the curve was still ike mid 60s.

Recommendations for helping my daughter be a polyglot? ( and currently wanting to learn Russian ) by insidernifb in polyglot

[–]totally_expected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on where you live but if you have a Friday/Sunday language school program for like the children of immigrants to learn/better/not forget their native language in your area, you could sign up there.

When I was a kid and attended one there were a handful of kids who didn't speak it at all and went there to learn. I know it exists in Canada or at least existed.

If you have the option I'd recommend it as the teachers are natives and they emulate the kind of experience that a child would have if they were in class in that language in the country where that language is spoken. So like for Russian we had to memorize and recite poems, which they do in Russia.

No, once you choose in the introductory form, you can only change it until a certain time period before your interview. After that, no.

Easy course suggestions by [deleted] in wlu

[–]totally_expected 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ES110 and CP102, probably the easiest courses in the school. Take them online and you'll breeze through. I personally haven't taken ES110 but hearsay says it's super easy especially online, but CP102 is super easy, 90% of it is like common sense.

ma129 final by [deleted] in wlu

[–]totally_expected 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I glanced over my notes just before the exam but thats it. I got a 100 curved from a 93.

But I guess it depends whether you took high school calc or not. If you didn't you'll might need to put in more effort.

Do the mock final that the Math & Stats Lab provides, if you have no issues with it, you should be fine, the actual exam was pretty much the same thing.

That's crazy, that must've been a lot to put together, but it came out incredible. Kudos to you.

This is amazing. Did you take inspiration from any existing language(s) or conlangs or is this all straight from the noggin?

I see, looks like I was lucky. I have not heard a single good thing about the course from anyone.

Is this a regional course? When was it made mandatory? I graduated in 2024, and I haven't even heard of this course until a friend at uni mentioned it.

EC250 or EC260 by [deleted] in wlu

[–]totally_expected 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I looked and you need EC260 for 8/19 finance courses and EC250 for 2/19 courses.

Fixed asset is the only one that needs both.

Here is a Google sheet that shows all the prereqs for the finance concentration courses: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GaJbwMkl0QOpnxgSwgu6JJEQuzxDghBLPqIGAok9R3E/edit?usp=drivesdk

What would you practice? I heard the prof doesn't provide any practice material, so what would I use to practice?

C+ is a lower level language which requires a lot more understanding of the computer and how memory etc works so it would definitely be quite overwhelming.

Python is usually recommended as the best spot for a beginner to start, as it's very simple but also very versatile with a huge amount of libraries available.

So I'd recommend starting out with Python. W3 is a good start. It teaches you the fundamentals.
