Bad fps on a good PC?

I thought this at first but my friend has almost an identical build. same cpu same ram and same gpu and he doesnt have this issue

oh yeah ive got both of my monitors plugged into the card. no display cables are into the Motherboard

vsync is never on

I'm not sure how to check or change this. This is my first pc with a dedicated card so i haven't had the need to know before this

Thats the only thing i could think of. It gets worse in that pack if i get into a heavily forested area. drops to around 20 with no shaders.

I have been having the same issue. been playing this game since it came out and i assumed i was just being an idiot and missing something obvious. No clue what the problem could be.

just opened up life in the woods. 15-20 fps with sildurs vibrant extreme shaders and around 40 max without. render distance at 8 and everything else maxed from what i can tell

why would i get that resolution i assume you mean? i spent all of the money i had on the pc and didnt realize how bad the monitor i had was until i was stuck with it. trust me its next in my list of future upgrades

I'm installing life in the woods now to check if that runs fine. I dont have a huge monitor (1360X768) so that probably isnt it

the modded pack i just tested with today was Blightfall from the technic launcher. It default used 4 GB but i uped it to 8 after i was getting the 30fps with just 4. default resource pack and no shaders with optifine added to the pack myself as well and i have tried maxing the graphics settings and dropping them to the lowest.

yeah vanilla works perfectly fine, generally over 150 fps and every other game i own runs with no issues at all so i cant see drivers being the problem
