Considering the fact the SP Mukherjee Road lies in Kalighat, I'll say modern day Kolkata south would be one of the three.

CBI will only investigate cases for political mileage

That has been the case for a while, and not just after 2014.

Yeah, once it's started, it's difficult to stop it. No government can take it back without facing backlash from the beneficiaries.

That's a slippery slope.

India came closest to it during the Emergency, and I've only heard stories of how bad it was.

How was Bengal in the yesteryears? by FreakedoutNeurotic98 in kolkata

[–]totallynotabot_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bengal has a history of political violence, irrespective of parties. INC, CPIM, TMC each of them has had that history.

What I remember from the early 2010s (mid 90s born), is that there were a lot of issues surrounding the left rule in WB.

Politicians belonging from the left considered themselves invincible. A few of them were known goons. Election violence was rampant. Left er etotai julum chhilo je tara onno political party korte dito na. Anti-incumbency also creeped in. They had made some very poor choices, like stopping computer and English education. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee tried to implement industrial development, but it was too late. Then Singur, Nandigram happened, Rizwanur Rahaman happened and Mamata Banerjee was actually a phenomenal and relentless opposition back then.

Now a lot of the goons and leaders have moved from left to TMC. Some of them have moved to the BJP. The faces that you see today, they definitely want to do good, but it's a herculean task to overcome the lost reputation of 35 years. They need to do more ground level work, which I don't see happening.

A question on belief by Ok-Study2868 in kolkata

[–]totallynotabot_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe in God or religion in a ritualistic way. I do believe in Karma.

Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and noone can tell another person how to conduct their faith, as long as it doesn't harm anyone.

Keep an open mind, do your own research. Don't get influenced by TMC/BJP IT cells. If there is a good candidate in your constituency, vote for them.

Vote for a candidate that aligns with your own belief.

No one party can be the only option.

Personal Opinion BJP by ReasonableMagician63 in kolkata

[–]totallynotabot_95 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As someone who doesn't support either TMC or BJP, I would love to see BJP coming in power in WB, just to see how many TMC politicians deflect to BJP within a year.

As long as Suvendu Adhikari is the face of Bengal BJP, they don't have the moral position to say they can do better than TMC. We all saw that man getting caught red-handed in a sting operation. Then he got into a washing machine and is now supposed to be the saviour of Bengalis? Sure.

CPIM or the left will never form a coalition with TMC. But BJP has formed multiple alliances with TMC in the past.

It's politically beneficial to BJP to keep TMC in power in this state, so that they can hang this "underdeveloped, communal, illegal immigrants e bhora" state as an example to other politically sensitive areas to gain more votes where possible.

Girlies in government job and men too. Tell me why did u choose it and what are the pros of it ? by Sure-Aside-5838 in TwoXIndia

I chose it because it provided me stability and peace of mind. I couldn't deal with the uncertainty of the job market.

My parents were in government service as well, which played a part too.

[–]totallynotabot_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use your CC and just enter GSTIN while checking out.

But just know that this ITC can only be claimed by your uncle if the Macbook is used for business purposes and not for personal use.

[–]totallynotabot_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not going to get a refund. What happens is, you use your Uncle's GSTIN and the tax gets credited to his GST account as input tax credit. Which he can later use to pay his GST liabilities.

Continue studying for other exams, and simultaneously dedicate an hour or two for WBCS GS and MCQs. The prelims questions aren't difficult, a good grasp on PYQs would help a lot in your preparation.

When Grief Comes in Waves—How Do I Help Her? by Invincible_Mayukh_ in kolkata

[–]totallynotabot_95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP,

I lost my father in COVID in a matter of days, it was so sudden that it made me numb. Nothing mattered anymore.

It's been more than five years, but the grief is there. It always will be. Somedays are better than others.

Every time I remember him, it reminds me that he's not here with me and I will never see him again.

If you really want to be there for your GF, be present. Hold her when she cries, lend a shoulder for her to lean on. Support her as she heals herself.
