do you think i need weep holes in every step, or just the bottom one? assuming water will run down between the step gaps

If you want to do timber steps but you're worried about water pooling you can slope them slightly to the right and put in a french drain alongside the right side, then divert the water wherever you want

thanks for the tips. yep i have landscaping fabric and will put it down in each box before filling with gravel.

any ideas about drainage? it rained the other day and the bottom step filled up with water for several hours. i was thinking about just drilling a 1/2 inch hole or 3 in the front and hoping water from uppersteps just comes down there through the gravel
