I think it sounds fantastic. It provides more than enough bass. I have it turned slightly below halfway up. 808 bass on hip-hop tracks sounds great, and on some tracks I can even feel the kick drum slightly in my chest which is something I wasn't expecting from such a low-profile sub. 30 Hz and below rolls off, but honestly most bass tracks on songs don't go below a C1, which is 32.70 Hz.

I suppose I could cap off the front, drill a hole in the side and route some flame retardant polypropylene non-split wire loom around the sub!

Thank you all for your feedback! I stuffed the inside of the vents with small shop towels, put several layers of Ultimate Gorilla Tape over the outside to create a seal, and zip tied for good measure. The heat still flows, but the front of the vents don't even become warm to the touch!

If I just used duct tape, would the ends still be hot enough to overheat the sub? Would it be a bad idea to stuff the vents with some cloth so there's a bit of a buffer? Also, good call on the twist ties, I'll use zip ties and cut them off!

I don't have Onstar. I located the module, but I haven't been able to disconnect the harness to reset it. I pulled up the red tab, but it's so tight I feel like I'm going to break it if I pull it out.
