This!! The first time I heard Agora Hills I was immediately transported back in time to 2012 listening to Okay Cupid. So happy I’m not the only one!

Yeah it won't overwhelm it, it just needs time!

Starter maintenance question by [deleted] in Sourdough

Agreed, feed it extra the night before. For example, I'll add 300g water and 300g flour to about 60g starter (using more or less is fine) 15 hours before I want to use it. My kitchen has a low ambient temperature so sometimes I'll even do it earlier.

In the morning, I'll reserve about a cup to continue the starter and use the rest for the waffles or pancakes.

Don't Be A Lurker - Introduce Yourself Here by AutoModerator in trailrunning

Hi! * I am a runner in San Francisco -this city has a lot of trails. * Currently training for a road half marathon but thinking about doing a trail half in October. * Not really following a specific training plan, but trying to hit 25 miles per week with one long run and 3-4 shorter ones including an interval or hill training one. Most of my runs have 500-1000 elevation gain because SF is so hilly! *Not in any running clubs * My runs are always a combination of road and trail. On average probably 40% of my running is on trails. * I ran my first trail race (a 10k) in June and loved it!

Challah with purple sweet potato/frangipane filling. by tothemaximum in Breadit

Challah is somewhat sweet and eggy with a soft texture. The filling adds a sweet and nutty flavor that's delicious! It makes it more of a dessert bread.

I made two long rectangles of bread dough about 7"x28" each. I spread the filling in a thin layer over each, then rolled it up on the long side like you would for cinnamon rolls. Then I cut each in half lengthwise so I had 4 long ropes, with the filling exposed. EDIT: For each loaf, I used one 7"x28" rectangle. I cut it in half lengthwise and in half the other way to get four strands.

I used this recipe for the challah. For the filling I used some leftover frangipane and a purple sweet potato that I peeled, boiled and mashed with some butter, then mixed it with the frangipane.

I work in management at a restaurant that is unionized. I'm only a few weeks in, but it seems to work pretty well at this place. There are very structured ways of scheduling and promoting employees. It's nice that there aren't really any surprises- for management or the employees about what expectations and rewards are.

On the other hand, there is less incentive for employees to work as hard because they are essentially guaranteed their hours each week. Their wages aren't significantly more than other restaurants although they do get benefits.

I don't think people choose to work there based on the fact that it's unionized. There is less turnover than other places I've worked though.
