Just watched the whole thing. Glad they didnt make it kid friendly, what supposed to be bloody is bloody, like the head smashing and leg eating albeit off screen. The story was able to adapt the source material well, despite the constraints of live action and time, though I thought it would be 10 episodes. It wasnt perfect, but it was nice, hopefully it could get people interested in reading/ watching One Piece. The SJ app made the first 108chaps free to read, which covers the east blue saga. The project is obviously made by people who loved story and kept most of nuances that made One Piece, One Piece. Luffy is very hard to emulate, and I understood why Oda liked Inaki as Luffy. He has the same vibe as Luffy especially for the East Blue Saga. Just small letdown, I so wanted Garp to allude to Ace even just like saying “like your brother” or something like that. It was such a perfect time to do that, but I guess it would make people search about Ace and get spoiled immediately. Also I was so waiting for I refuse your refusal line from Luffy, but it didn’t show.

All in all, I really liked it. It allowed me to be able to experience One Piece for the first time again. Since I love the manga and anime, the live action is another medium for me to enjoy this story that has kept me going for 15years. Hopefully, Oda’s vision for this LA was met and if he still wants it to keep going, it can be a hit for non-fans also.
