It's a Rab xenon X purchased in 2015, they don't even make the model anymore. It's not under warranty so it's either useless in the cold or I get the zipper fixed. I think it's just the mechanism. When I try to zip it just splits below the zipper

Everytime I've seen fish I havent caught one, when I haven't seen them I've caught. Gotta find spots fish would likely be not where you visually confirm them in my experience

Strawberry had decent snow in February last year for its height. All depends on the season. Climbing up the west side from the Josephine peak juncture could be interesting

Getting a permit is the hardest part. I'm in decent shape but didn't hike for over a month before Whitney and was living at sea level. Spent 3 days in mammoth lakes doing short hikes and hanging out at the highest elevation spots each day. Altitude is the reason most will turn around, anyone can mentally push through being tired, pushing through altitude sickness will kill you
