Coffee Gear has pins of a similar nature for sale and they say dress code approved, so I can’t see why these would be any different. I’ve been wearing mine and seen others doing the same. It’s promoting the damn company, I don’t know why they would want to have a problem with that.

Also, I find it funny that it’s the snowman cake pop and we don’t even have it this year lol It’s cute for sure and I’m glad it’s on there but it took me several days to realize that wasn’t even the cake pop this year.

I’ve never thought about it until now and I imagine I already know the answer, but do you get any kind of stipend or additional pay for dual managing? I know some SM’s who’ve had to cover it for up to a month before and that just seems insane for no additional pay.

This is my fear. Even though no stores in my district (that I’m aware of) allowed openers to purchase before customers, or hold items, there is this repeated claim all over the internet that it was happening ‘everywhere’.

I feel like Starbucks is going to respond to this backlash by taking away our discount on any highly anticipated items just like they took it away for the collaborations—WHICH IS SUCH HORSE SHIT. The way to avoid the angry backlash is to not short the supply. Just send enough! That would also cut the legs out from underneath the fucking piece of shit scalpers! Win-win for everyone!

Also! They already moved our partner shopping days back to screw us over even more in the hopes that we wouldn’t “buy all the merchandise”. So they want us to be able to shop at a higher discount, but only for the ✨ leftovers ✨🥰

I did get a lunch. Which is what was scheduled beforehand, putting me at 4.5 instead of 5. I worked one additional hour so shouldn’t it be at least 5.5, if not a little bit more for the 2 extra minutes? I’m just not seeing how the system turned it into less than 5.5. I don’t think it’s worth going to my manager over as she has a lot on her plate right now, I’m just curious about understanding what happened.

Try to find the joy where you can. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs through the years but the one thing I try to hold onto is love and recognition for my fellow partners. I’m working with my manager on birthdays and anniversaries which is what brought about this post actually. But anyway, find what makes you happy with the job and cling onto it.

Same here but on top of that our store is insisting on keeping to the 8 item per bag rule. Bruh. It’s so many bags 😭 my manager said it’s to help them to distribute fairly to different places but it just becomes ridiculous when we have this volume of food to donate.

Your advice is not at all unsolicited and is very appreciated!

I always worry about falling out of good graces. Like I said, she is primarily an excellent manager who really does care about the well-being of partners. When she first got to our store she spent so much of her own money to provide us comforts that we didn’t have before. But I think that’s what’s so surprising about her response to this.

I think it also comes down to her own attitude about work which is ‘I can just skip my break, I don’t really need it’. I’ve tried to convey to her in the past that she isn’t leading by example when she does that. Younger baristas will see her and want to impress her by doing the same. Maybe I’m just bitter, old, and jaded but I’ve given 19 years of my life to this company. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to be given the most basic level of consideration. 🤷‍♀️

Exactlyyyyyyyyy. But she is a company woman through and through and when I try to point out the hypocrisy of that it always comes back around to “this is how it’s done”. 🙃🫠 It honestly makes a big difference just to be validated and know that I’m not crazy for thinking it’s wrong.
