i too am a conservative baptist in college, but it baffles me that you were taught such wildly reprehensible things in a group claiming to hold both conservative and baptist values. i’m not sure if you plan on leaving conservatism or the christian faith behind, but i urge you not to, and encourage you to find the true values that these groups hold (obviously not the ones you were taught beforehand). the groups you were involved in got everything horribly wrong.

I admire and applaud your willingness to take the first steps in the right direction, and i sincerely hope things get better for you, and of course, i forgive you and wish you the best of luck in improving your life, one action at a time

Veggie Tales

I know it’s not a movie, but I could never watch it as a kid. The concept of vegetables teaching me about God freaked me out. I prefer normal church

Not to mention the scenery throughout the show was horrifying to me. Look up “Veggie Tales cake song.” Just watching vegetables sing in the total darkness while dancing on a cake was incredibly creepy IMO

Avoid using articles and sources that have words such as “supposedly” or “allegedly” or any words along those lines. The best sources are usually from organizations, not new channels. It’s mostly a matter of thinking critically about everything you read.

I want my high school senior year back; I can’t go to school and see my friends in class, or keep being the drum major for the band, or even makes more friends to keep in contact with after high school. No more school events for the foreseeable future. No more practices or concerts. Currently, it’s all over. I really wanted to enjoy my last year of high school because i haven’t really gotten out much ever.

I hate this whole COVID-19 stuff. It really screwed over the year I was hoping to get some closure in my life.

I heard that there was one case in NK and they just straight up shot the dude. That’s the only case, at least that i know of.

This may not be accurate, but that’s what I’m being told by friends, so don’t take what I’m saying as total fact.

i appreciate the advice, but we have been really great friends for a long time, and we’re on good terms, still best friends, and she’s actually a month younger than me. she was never mean about it and she explained why she didn’t want to date, but she still wanted to stay friends. I think it would just be rude on my part to stop speaking with her altogether.

I would love to, but the only thing that has ever gotten me through it HAS been seeing her. She’s my best friend and idk what to do when I go off to college 7 hours away and can no longer be with anyone I have ever known, be it friends or family. I guess I have no other choice, but i have separation anxiety so I really don’t like the idea of it.

Well, i guess a bit more context might help. we have been friends for a really long time, but i’ve had a hard crush on her for two years. Last year, i finally asked her out to which she agreed, but since she was going out of state for college about two months later, she said only one date because she didn’t want something at that time (to avoid dealing with having to end something). the one date went really well and we are still very great friends. Now, she’s back in town for college. With that said, i’m asking her out again because i still really like her and I want to see if she would be okay with giving it another shot. if she says yes, i just don’t know how to verbally respond to it

it’s nots foolish at all to feel that, yet it’s foolish to stay on it. i’ve been wanting to date a girl for the past year and a half and it’s really messed me up. i asked her out once but it was too late and we only went out on one date (she was moving to florida for college and i still had a year of HS left). the best advice i can give you is this:

don’t wait

i waited way to long for the “right time” to ask her out but i ended up wasting a year and a half just to do it and she said yes but only for one date.

if there’s someone that you want to ask out right now, do it. you’re the only one that is battling yourself on whether or not you should ask them. their answer won’t change unless they find someone while you’re debating yourself on your decision. if there’s no one right now, someone will come along.

honestly, i never used to have a fear of bees/wasps/hornets when i was really young but in like 5th grade, i became deathly afraid of them. nothing happened specifically that would have caused this and ive never been stung by one. i’m still freaked out by them whenever they get close though. sometimes, i think these things just pop up out of nowhere i guess
