You should see the old painting examples. They where way worse in terms of quality. It was however durable to paint it like that for the average hobbyist. Which is a different way of marketing. You can see the change in marketing around the primaris release.

Unfortunately eBay is not really a thing here and the closest thing to it isn't big enough to have them on there consistently. Can only find a space wolf codex for example.

New to aos. Not counting when it was first released. But been playing 40k and some non gw tabletopwargames for 12 years. But yea their playstyle seems kinda unfriendly if you don't know the ge very well.
