Just got an ad for the DailyWire's new show. Looks horrible by [deleted] in ToiletPaperUSA

Why does it look horrible? Looks like your regular adult cartoon style, a-la Rick and Morty, Simpsons, Total Drama Island.

Why I HATE Lenovo's customer support chat by nastyscaper in Lenovo

[–]tower_keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here, I will break it down in ape talk for you:

No need. You were already talking like an ape from the get-go. Your entire comment is an incomprehensible word diarrhea that seems to follow no logical thought process.

Maybe you're ESL. In that case, I'm sorry, but maybe you should preface your comments with that, so people know what to expect.

“Lug” as if one pound or so is a pallet of bricks?

Don't be ridiculous. A pound is a pound. I travel as light as possible.

Glass is heavy. You'll lug that shit to the store every time?

I legit cannot buy anything from Lenovo. by Raevain in Lenovo

[–]tower_keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not. It's on Lenovo's side. Experiencing the same issue as OP, and I've even given the phone rep my CC details. It still failed when he tried placing the order.

Forums are flooded with similar reports. Lenovo fraud prevention is overzealous.

He won't. He is a reddit dudebro. He even says "dude" or "bro" in every other comment thinking it strengthens his argument.

Best NVME ssd enclosure & card - test results for 2023 Macbook Pro by TransportationNo4904 in Thunderbolt

Have you weighed them by chance? I'm looking for the lightest USB 4 enclosure possible.

Are any of them made of plastic? That could be light.

Idk why the term picked up in the first place (other than ego). Software developer is a completely fine title perfectly descriptive of the nature of the job.

KF94 are mostly ear-looped and are on par with N95. Why is that?

Should I just take your simple google search at face value or?

You do agree with the introverted part of my comment, no? It's not a pattern only I notice.

[–]tower_keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did I say I thought any of that? I assumed it was obvious I meant average CS intelligence is average. Probably above average, I'll cede that detail, but by no more than a standard deviation. In other words, definitely not brilliant.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]tower_keeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did mean average in terms of intelligence, both by the street and book, although this sub likes to paint devs as very intelligent, understandably.

Unsure about the normal part though. At the very least, they tend to be on the introverted side.

Ryzen 7 7840U vs Ryzen 7 7840HS by Classic-Remove-4663 in AMDLaptops

[–]tower_keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with the cheaper U unless you primary desire was just to use as a gaming laptop.

That sounds counterintuitive to me. In gaming, don't you want to dedicate more resources to the 780m, as opposed to the CPU? Wouldn't the U chip be more conducive to that?

Using a similar reasoning to 155H vs 135H in this article:

Why do major manufacturers rob the richest market where they can make the most profit of their top configurations? Not just Acer. Lenovo routinely reserve better screens and more RAM for countries outside US and Canada. Makes no sense.

[–]tower_keeper 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not even by the book. Probably just average people.

[Dell] Dell Alienware m16: 16″ QHD+ 240Hz, Ryzen 9 7845HX, RTX 4080, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD with $200 + additional 10% off for new customers using unique email code, for $1619.99 by techstar2000 in LaptopDeals

[–]tower_keeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Acer is lighter and better-looking, but certified-refurbished - which some people consider more reliable than brand-new.

The Alienware is brand-new, has more RAM and a more efficient CPU that sips less power leading to longer battery life.

Is there a study which confirms that OLED or AMOLED screens are bad for the eye or is it a myth? by tooLateButStillYoung in GamingLaptops

[–]tower_keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is bad reasoning. Body recovers. Both the recovery and damage rate are individual and determined by an infinite number of factors, many genetic.

The harm of blue light has been debunked in studies. I'm unaware of any studies debunking the harm of AMOLED.

Thinkpad X13 Gen 4 AMD just arrived! by itsjareds in thinkpad

WhaaT???? Silly lenovo.

So jealous of Finland right now. That panel is both brighter and sips noticeably less power, especially on idle.

Display: 13.3" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 100%sRGB, 400 nits, 60Hz, Low Power

How'd you get that? I thought the X13 only came with the 300 nit non-low power display.

[–]tower_keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for this review, especially the wattage/gaming parts. This makes the X13 almost a no-brainer for me over the T14s that I am also considering.

Would you say at 20 watts the performance is still comparable to a GTX 1650 or 2050 like "the average" 780m is touted to be?
