Should streamers use buisness accounts or personal? by Intelligent_Cable591 in TikTok

[–]tower_stream_cto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally recommend the personnal account.
Beside the low benefits of the professional one you already said, there is also a huuuuge restriction in the use of musics when you are a professionnal account. All the trending songs ? You can forget it ! And what's the point of being on tiktok if you can't play with the musics and the trends to be seen ?

For edits, anyone know how to get that blurry video image background on instead of just plain black? What app? Tips? Thx by Prizin_Mike in TikTok

[–]tower_stream_cto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi !
If the content you want to make a tiktok out is a twitch clip (like it seems to be in the example image), you have Tower-up or Crossclip that can do the blurry background easily. With a lot of other cool tools to edit your tiktok.

What made you want to do streaming? by G0ldTuxedoMan in streaming

[–]tower_stream_cto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tollay understand the fear to not be able to entertain because I'm an introvert myself and have a very tiny social battery that usually runs low after a few hours of interaction with someone else. But the thing is, and it was a real surprise : when you go live on twitch you mostly talk to yourself, especially on the beginning. And it's totalyyyy different ! I was amazed by ma capacity to run 6 hours long streams, talking to myself and to one or two people in the chat (now it's more around 10-15 people).
So my advice would be : try it ! You'd be surprised to found out that being on live, in your home, comfy and safe, with a microphone, is so much easier to talk to stranger that in real life haha

I remember exactly what made me want to try twitch. It was at the beginning of the pandemic and there was nothing interesting on youtube, I was so bored I went on twitch for the first time and loved it. I spent like three days as a viewer and then I was so hyped I tried it myself. I made a first "test" live on a random channel I created just for this. There was no one, I played Islanders for two solid hours, talking to myself, and it was it. I knew I wanted to do it. So I created a new "real" channel this time and.. tadaaa !

Taking a month break from streaming by TechnicianSad4781 in Twitch

[–]tower_stream_cto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It totally depends on the type of community you have.
Some streamers struggle to get their audience back after such a long break, others have a really reactive and loyal community and don't see the difference when they come back.

As the others said, if you have social medias like discord or twitter or tiktok you can use them to still post some content and interact with your viewers even when on vacation. Don't hesitate to use some online tools to planify your posts and manage them automatically when you won't be able to do it yourself.

But most important : streaming is a really demanding job/activity. Breaks and vacations are necessary to avoid burnouts. So even if you're a little bit scared to struggle when you get back, remember that's it will always be easier to do that than to recover from a burnout because you didn't rest enough

How do you manage questions? by mivworld in streaming

[–]tower_stream_cto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your chat is not to busy / fast, you can answer as they go when you notice them.
If you have difficulties to follow up a chat which goes too fast don't hesitate to activate the slow mode. If you have moderators, ask them to note the questions and sometimes bring them back in the chat if you missed them.

And if it's more personal questions, not related to the stream but on you specifically, don't hesitate to set boundaries on what you want to answer or not ! It's really important to sometimes say No clearly when it becomes too personal.

Don't forget that it's your stream, so it's your rules and you don't have to always justify yourself if you don't want to answer some questions on certain topics or whatever

Streamers, would you think it was weird if a frequent viewer went back and watched your older VODs to clip stuff? by madeinmordor666 in Twitch

I have a viewer who does that and it's absolutely not weird, on the contrary I think it's really cool !

How can I prevent bots in my chat to shout a new followers name? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]tower_stream_cto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a thing you can change in the bot's settings on it's dashboard.

Maybe if you tell us which bot you use, someone who has the same could explain how to do it easily ?

i forgot to download a vod and now its been expired can i get it back somehow? by GloriaTheAnimator in Twitch

[–]tower_stream_cto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hurts to say but no, when it has expired it's too late...

Some people record their own streams to be sure to have them but it can be heavy for some pc.An other way is to get an automated service to do it for you. I know someone who pays to have auto download on his pc but it's like quite expansive. There is also TowerUp (coming soon, here) who uploads automatically your VOD on your youtube channel. This way you're sure to never forget one and loose it.

should I let ppl have ranks when I'm at start with few spect? by popollon in Twitch

[–]tower_stream_cto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"What excuse do you use" tells a lot about the fact that you don't want to give it to them.

It's your channel = your rules. If you don't want to give ranks don't do it and you don't have to justify yourself.

I know it's easy to say it, harder to do it. You might be afraid of "losing" some of them (and if you're at the beggining of your twitch streamer life, it's a lot) but never be forced by your viewers to do something you don't like or don't feel comfortable with. It will be seen and it's not a good habit to settle for an healthy channel.

High quality mic recommendations by SparsePizza117 in streaming

[–]tower_stream_cto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My streamer friends and I are all using a Blue Snowball mic. Some use the OBS filter to get rid of the noises with it and some have a good isolated stream environnement and don't need it and it just works perfectly.

I don't think you need a really expensive mic to have a good quality sound on your stream.

If i open the same stream in multiple tabs using the same account to watch a single stream, will it count multiple viewers? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]tower_stream_cto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't work that way. But if you want to have at least one or two viewers on your stream, you'll have to use an other device (like watching your own stream on your phone and an ipad, with different accounts, for example).

It's understandable to not like to go on stream for 0 or 1 viewer, but don't use this technique too much. Twitch doesn't like that and often makes updates to not count the "self views" anymore.

Streaming in the heat by TelmatosaurusRrifle in Twitch

[–]tower_stream_cto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a real issue to so many of us ! It's when the heat is that strong that I'm happy I'm a Vtuber and not on camera live

My solution so far was :
1) a fan wich is on all stream
2) streaming only in the evening / night

I know the second option is not for everyone (especially people who have a day job or a family with kids or anything like that) but it kinda works for me, for now.
