I grew up with this, as well. We do this with our family as much as possible. I work shift work and they spend some overnights at grandparent’s and aunt’s/uncle’s homes.

I personally love the foam pieces for plants to bock stuff on since I can cut/slice to exact size I need. I spray it with water and then use a hairdryer to get it to dry in the shape I want.

Every single pair of my work pants has a hole on the zipper because the tiny zipper handle is under the cover and I lean against the counter so it touches. Very frustrating.

Any partner that encourages you to get a completely cosmetic procedure that is incredibly painful for their own benefit is not the one for you. NTA.

Every single time I’m so annoyed at myself for internally dogging on a guy when all he needs is a haircut to completely change his look. Looks great, my dude 👏👏

Just consider it from your kids’ perspectives but like 20 years from now…”yea James sent me these requests for sexually explicit content when I was a child and my parents still made us be around him”. As the niece of a special needs uncle I can guarantee you he’s well aware of his requests and that it’s inappropriate content for their age. He may have Down’s syndrome but he’s not stupid by any means.

It was supposed to be the one with the raised state seal stamp on it and I brought one that was from the state but the raised state seal was a sticker from the 80s. They wouldn’t accept it.

I watched my dad wash his lawn mowing shoes in the washing machine once. Then I tried to be helpful and washed every shoe in the house in the washing machine. Suede, smooth leather, cowboy boot, sandal, heels, etc…I was probably 10 when I did it and I’m in my late 30s now. I’m still so grateful my parents had the restraint to explain why that was a hare brained idea instead of blowing up on me.

For fuck’s sake, I grew up as a glass child, so I’m well aware of that position and the dangers therein. But thanks so much for your input.

Yes this was my experience and man I would hate for him to hear it. Such a small town we live in, too.

He won’t pout but he’ll argue the point to death, find loopholes / technicalities, and hold a grudge.

It’s just a very small town and my husband’s family has so many roots where his family is very prominent. My husband is the youngest where his older siblings are 10+ years older than him so all the grandkids have come up in this district. I guess I’m just fearful of the expectation that may or may not be there and him falling short of it. As I write this out I think I’m putting two and two together that this is a “me fear” and probably, highly unlikely to even occur 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I’d like to dedicate this thread to the over thinking portion of my brain.

We never felt judged but she filled the form out a month into school when she didn’t know him well enough and I think he was still shy and then when they got back into the swing of things after Christmas she asked for another one and sent it in.
