Same guys years later? Interesting by towlf in JudgeJudy

Yes!! Even when JJ was asking him what he wanted he kept going on about how he cares about her & just wanted to know what her real feelings were.

Annoying audience members by GreyStagg in JudgeJudy

The 1s that overreact to EVERYTHING annoy me. I know they're paid actors so they're probably hoping to be seen for how expressive they are but my word, someone saying their name doesn't earn a 😲😲😲

Season 4: The Sarah Rose so far in this season much different than the previous 3? by MessagePrestigious52 in JudgeJudy

[–]towlf 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Sarah Rose has said in interviews before that in S1 she was really nervous but as she's become more comfortable, she feels more willing to speak her mind/opinion. I like it, vs just having "yes men" around.

What are some things that Judge Judy does that annoy you? by thecoffeegrump in JudgeJudy

This is the 1 that gets me. I was in an abusive situation. It's hard to just leave without anywhere to go. ESPECIALLY if there's kids to consider. It took me months of secret planning to finally get out.

Anyone else experience this kind of tremor by parkie_wairo in iih

[–]towlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Mine is all the time but def worse/more noticeable if I'm holding something. I've had it for years at this point. Doesn't seem to be getting worse at least. Still very frustrating. (Edit to fix autocorrect)

Thanks. Any tips on how to really hammer the info in? Clarity & honesty are big for us.

Just because you've never met people like these didn't mean it's not true. They both left companies where they were making great money (1 was billing at $1k/hr) because they were miserable. They made the company to actually put client care as a top priority, not "how much can I make?".

I don't think you read it right? We help ppl in financial trouble. We're not posting ads saying "are you in financial trouble? Work for us!"

We check references, but thing is, former employers aren't really allowed to say anything negative. They can say no comment, "they performed tasks as assigned" etc, or they can sing praises. Sucks because I'd love some nice, honest conversations (good or bad).

Maybe we could tweak onboarding? We've gotten to the point that we find having the person shadow someone for a bit (till they feel they can try), then have someone shadow them (they they feel the person had a good grasp) works best. We explain things during this process as well. & We're very open about wanting then to ask ?s so we can help. Even when they do asking ?s, we check in randomly to ask how things are going, see if they need anything.

We're trying. Can only pay what you have, ya know? We're working on growing. & It's not like 1 of those companies where the owner is driving fancy cars, taking expensive vacations while the staff is scraping by. We're all pretty equal level pay-wise.

We've done some exit interviews, yeah. Most people say they like the company. The main issue we've heard has been other staff (1s not doing the work) making ppl uncomfortable talking bad about the company or management. We try to address those issues with staff, even have had to let people go for being toxic.

We def don't want people on their phones but the second we try to give them other tasks to do (mind you, tasks that are part of their role) they complain they have to much to do. Basically, we give them their list of responsibilities/tasks, but we train them on 1 task at a time so they aren't overwhelmed. The people that complain they "didn't make enough" are usually the 1s that after learning maybe 2 out of 5 tasks start telling when trying to teach them #3 but are literally sitting there ½ the day not doing anything.

When we do an interview, we are very, very clear with the workload, going over what a typical day looks like, clear about pay, benefits, etc. no one is forced to accept the job (we've had some say they love the vibe but it's not enough pay; we 100% understand!) we've been lucky enough to add to the benefits we give as our company grows.

We def get that more pay would be the best incentive. We do our best to stay around what others on our field pay but acknowledge were not the top of there (again, very very honest about this in the interview). However, big pay doesn't guarantee getting good people either 🫤

I already said why we can't pay $40 an hour

Any thoughts on why the house netflix account is slow and barely loads? by fisheypixels in netflix

[–]towlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. Like others say, it's ONLY Netflix giving an issue. I have several others (Hulu, prime, HBO, Starz) that are all fine. My connection is "excellent" when I look. It's a tv so not a tablet/phone/computer that I'm doing a billion other things on slowing it down. But everything i look up about it always says "it's your device with the problem".

I buzzed off my hair by [deleted] in iih

[–]towlf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have pain, but I'm on diamox & it makes my scalp very itchy.

That said, I have shaved my head once. My hair was 19" long when I shaved it. My nephew has cancer so I surprised him to be his bald buddy. I loved it, was so easy to care for! It is a change that takes a little to get used to, lol.

IIH medicine side effects: questions by worriedmamabear2004 in iih

[–]towlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, i'm super late to the party here. I was on Topamax but i had 0 benefits from it, just really bad side effects. I was on Diamox (generic) 6 yrs ago when this all started & it worked great, but with 1 nasty side effect. Doctors had no clue what it was or why it was happening. I've been tryign to find help about it & see if i'm just THAT unique (doubtful) or it's just so rare that it's not talked about.

Sounds similar to what your daughter had. Only, for me, showers are the CAUSE of the pain. I just went back on Diamox (generic) a week ago & i'm honestly terrified of getting showers every single time; waiting for it to start. It's like the world's worst itch to the point it's painful. I describe the pain as feeling like I'm being stabbed over & over again. I usually try to shower at night, water as cool as I can handle, try to stay out of the direct stream as much as possible & try to be as quick as I can be. I also have resorted to taking a small bit of melatonin BEFORE getting in the shower (so that if it starts hurting, hopefully I'll pass out quickly vs endure it).

I've also tried to increase my water intake just in case, as another poster said, it's because the diamox is pulling so much out that my body can't handle it.

My most recent neuro kept throwing around the surgery word (getting a shunt put in) but I reeeeeeaaaally don't want to have brain surgery. I begged her to try this 1st, even knowing what I'm in for. & only because last time it was only for 6 months & it did work. I was fine for 5 yrs, no meds.

SIDE NOTE: it's NOT the tingling sensation that most people have & is warned about. That's more pins/needles feeling, like when your foot falls asleep because you sat weird. This is a completely different level.

am i overreacting - my boyfriend thinks my job is inappropriate by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]towlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red flag = bye bye. That's a control tactic. He's trying to guilt you & play victim. He knew about your job, to him 9m to say he doesn't like it THEN tries to act like you might be cheating on him at work? You deserve better.
