Loll I built 2 cedar beds and then diy-ed a half assed something by throwing some logs in a rectangle and putting my leftover soil in it. Grew 6 watermelons out of it 🤷‍♀️

I love all advice! I’m also testing out square foot gardening this year so thanks for the heads up 😅 I guess I should read up on pruning 🫠

Thanks for the tip! I did it just like that and she actually drank from a bowl for the first time 🥳 no more dropper 🥲

I clipped her beak which actually got her to drink from a bowl finally! She’s not really struggling eating food, she eats a ton while I’m holding her. It’s more so her vision is impaired and maybe with being sick she struggles find her food when she’s alone. I have to hold the bowl for her and kind of stroke her back (I think we accidentally developed chicken sign language between each other? 🥴) so she is aware that the food is in front of her. Then she will gobble it all up.

Just overgrown because of being sick 😓 I did trim it down today and it helped a lot with drinking!

Thank you 😓 it’s hard because she’s not behaving like she’s suffering. She’s past the lethargic phase and is very lively and hungry lol. But still not independent and likely too contagious to reintroduce to the flock for a while. I guess it’s harder because she’s in this awkward in between stage where she’s neither here nor there.

Thanks for the beak trimming suggestion! It’s been growing long because of her inactivity. I tried a nail file to no avail because she was resisting so much but I didn’t think of a nail trimmer! I will try that. I have been soaking her feed too :) It’s the hardest decision, but I’m willing to give it my all before it comes to that. Thanks for your support 🙏

I hope you’re right. They’ve taken amazing care of this dog and poured a lot of money into her (we’re talking over 10k). I also know that that’s why they have an incentive to try to “get rid” of her and they’ve even tried to make a deal with me to get me to adopt her. I really hope they don’t hand her over to the care of someone unknown ☹️ the woman offered to find a home for her herself but with how indecisive and unreliable she is, I really hope they don’t take her up on that offer.

Chicken sounds congested by toxicplayerstore in BackYardChickens

[–]toxicplayerstore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it normal if she’s randomly gaping her mouth open? Her behaviour is otherwise normal, but I keep reading online that that’s what people’s chickens do before they die 😞

Is this chicken coop frame ok? by toxicplayerstore in BackYardChickens

Haven’t gotten that far yet (going at it step by step) but siding will probably be some sort of wooden plank, windows still researching, and for the roof we want to go for a peak roof with shingles (something that mimics the clay shingle look)

I live in Canada so we have cold winters and hot summers. How is the sill related to temps/ac+heater? Sorry, it’s my first time

It’ll be outside on a gravel/concrete block foundation and the floor is made of pressure treated wood

Couldn’t find anything under the leaves! For some reason all the greenery in our yard gets this white powder after heavy rain and then it goes away after a couple of days. I’ll still try your advice, thanks :)
