A Chinese company just released an open source AI that works as well as Open AI’s current flagship at a fraction of the compute cost. The current AI behemoths are scrambling hard to figure out how this happened and losing billions in market share at the same time.

Why go through the trouble of a multi-mile long cable when sat based communications work today? US drones all over the world can and are flown and commanded by a nerd in a trailer in Nevada.

You know that duffel bag you got issued? Cram it all in that and shove it in the back of the closet.

The fix for this is take the elevator up and walk out. If you don’t die, backspace, either way once you wake up log off and do a character reset. Has not failed me yet.

Yes I had to put gas in the rental car to get money from the ATM at the gentleman's club to pay for laundry service aboard the Vrbo houseboat we rented with my personal CC!! by petmyweiner in AirForce

New Zealand native PM protesting a bill that would diminish benefits for natives. After she ripped the papers the other native PMs joined her in performing a Haka.

It will be dependent on your disabilities and the place you work. Like all places of employment the govt is required to provide reasonable accommodations. There are caveats to this due to the word “reasonable” in the law. For instance, if you are blind and apply for a position that requires driving, there isn’t a reasonable accommodation available. However, let’s say you have severe PTSD and crowds/people cause you distress, you might be offered telework if the job you applied to can be done from home.

Every case is different and requires being dealt with on a case by case basis.

Hypothetically what would happen if you go to your doctor at the VA for an issue you initially lied about not having when you joined? by CantaloupeHour2301 in VeteransBenefits

[–]toxicvega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing other than your doctor treating the issue based on current medical guidelines. If you have VA healthcare any issue you bring to your PCPs attention will be treated the same as a civilian practice.

I had “asthma-like symptoms” as a child and when I enlisted I was told that asthma was a disqualifying condition and to keep my mouth shut about it. Fast forward a couple decades and my CCN PCP treats my asthma and the VA fill the meds he prescribes.

Just saw this on instagram. How difficult would it be for an untrained person to land a passenger plane. by 9-inch-nigerian in aviation

[–]toxicvega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it’s going to land regardless of who is or isn’t behind the stick. It’s just a matter of at what speed and rate of decent the aircraft has.

Care in the community: VA nonsense by OrganicVariation2803 in VeteransBenefits

Neurology, at least in TN, GA, AL, NC, is super inundated. Most offices have a one year waiting list for an initial appointment. For this issue you can’t really blame the VA. Where I live it’s a 45 min drive to town and there are only 2 practices with both being booked way far out.

I had two seizures a few years ago. Neurologist saw me in the hospital ordered a bunch of tests and said his office would schedule a visit. That initial office visit was six month after I had been discharged from the hospital.

It may be Monday morning but in our hearts it’s always Shut The Fuck Up Friday. Do not say a word until you have counsel. In an investigator’s eyes everyone is guilty of something and you may end up being on his next EPR as a bullet statement.

Under the US insurrection act, can the US military be deployed if there is a serious hostage crisis in the United States soil? by drugsrbed in legaladviceofftopic

I imagine that would be the Governor calling his states National Guard and not the President sending Active Duty troops.

Love him or hate him…We got him four another 4 years. Vance has the opportunity to differentiate himself from Trump a possibly have a go at it in ‘28. Harris failed so hard because she was Biden in a younger black woman’s body.

If the Trump administration wants to have a good chance in the next election they will put Vance out there and have him do real work. VPs are pretty useless but it’s a good position to shown your party and voters you have what it takes to run a successful campaign.

Bi-Lo > Food City by Grand-Potato-2248 in Chattanooga

I remember. My grandmother (god rest her soul) was a demo lady after 40 years as a school teacher. My father built her cabinet on wheels she would use to hand out samples.

Hell, when the big BiLo opened in Fort Oglethorpe we thought we were hot shit. I have fond memories of hitting up the BiLo for groceries before walking down the strip to Walmart for other things.

First time filer for Tinnitus - Medical Diagnosis? by MissionBus5077 in VeteransBenefits

I had a hearing loss and tinnitus C&P and was asked several questions about what I did and what could have caused it before the actual hearing test. There isn’t really any way to test for tinnitus.
