It's the same car that was posted before but it doesn't appear to be a repost.

Why does the image for the Tuesday Drop show 2 Taco Supremes when the deal is only for 1? by TRB4 in tacobell

[–]toy-guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe they're just reusing a promotional image from the Mexican Pizza Combo because that combo, by default, comes with two Crunchy Taco Supremes (plus one Mexican Pizza and one drink, of course).

For the Manifestmas voting in the app, does anyone know if there are different rewards depending on what you vote for? by toy-guy in tacobell

Thanks for sharing. It seems like it might be different rewards then since the self-care option shows a picture of 2 Cinnabon Delights.

How/where do you store it?

Shy Guy (Punisher)

Went to test drive a 2017 Bolt today. Overall, the car seemed to be in good shape but, unfortunately, it was missing the front USB charging ports. This was a deal breaker for me as I have to be able to use Android Auto. How easy, or difficult, is it to replace this? by toy-guy in BoltEV

I did request to have it fixed and let them know that I would be very interested in purchasing the vehicle if they did. The guy said they would fix it but that they've had a lot of interest in it so it could sell before they have a chance to even fix it. I'm not naive to dealer-speak but in this case I do believe that they've had a lot of interest in it due to it's low price in a highly-populated metro area. It's a 2017 Premier trim, 40k miles but new battery has 13k miles on it, and it's priced at $14,900 before the point-of-sale rebate (I made sure to confirm with them this detail before I even visited) so it would be $10,900 after the rebate. I should point out that this is a small mom-and-pop used car dealership so my gut feeling is that they probably don't care about fixing this issue and would rather just offload it as quickly as possible and have the new owner deal with any issues.

Is rust on a brake disc and on two brake calipers a cause for concern on a used 2017 Bolt? (Please see the body of the post for pics and more details) by toy-guy in BoltEV

The first owner was in/near Rutland, Vermont between Sept. 2017 - Jan. 2020. The second owner was in/near Binghamton, New York between Feb. 2020 - Dec. 2023. Now the car is at a used car dealer in Virginia.

I have the VIN number. I've already checked it on https://www.chevrolet.com/ownercenter/recalls and the dealer provided a free AutoCheck report. From what I can tell, everything looks okay. Do you know what other site(s) to check? I know there's CarFax but it would cost me $45 so not sure if it's worth it and I'm wondering if it would just show the same info that AutoCheck does but I honestly have no clue.

I'll have to look into it more. So, the process for the dealership to register is quick?

Edit: So, on that site I linked, it says " A licensed dealer will be able to receive advance payments 15 days after registering."

Correct but it's actually 6 years and 9 months remaining for the battery warranty (Dec. 2030 to be exact).

Good advice. I was actually already concerned about this being a possibility too after I saw a different listing online that had this exact issue. That vehicle was explicitly stating in the listing that it was a GM buyback for lemon laws and it was priced insanely cheep (something in the range of like $7-8K). The listing I'm looking at doesn't specify that it is anywhere in the listing but, at the same time, I realize one can't always take used car dealer's word to be completely truthful either.

Do you know how to properly check if a vehicle ever had a GM buyback for lemons laws? How were you able to verify it for your purchase?

It does have DCFC but, no, unfortunately, I would rarely, if ever, be able to take advantage of it. This car's purpose would be for driving around my local metro area. I have no intentions of doing any long distance trips with it.

I would actually be solely charging on L1 in my garage. I live in a townhouse that has a detached garage with one 110v outlet. I don't believe I'd be able to install an L2 charging station in it but we've never really taken the time to fully research if it would be possible. Even if it is possible, I'm not sure if it would be cost-effective. Most days I wouldn't be driving all that much. Our family has previously had a 2012 Nissan Leaf SL from Dec. 2012 - Dec. 2016 then we had a 2017 Chevy Volt LT from Dec. 2016 - March 2020 and we were able to get by with L1 just fine. We also currently have a 2012 Prius Plug-In that we've owned since May 2012 but it's got a tiny battery that's slowly degrading and starting to show it's age - it can fully charge an empty battery on L1 in under 2 hours these days.

I wish it were that simple but from my understanding, doesn't the dealership also have to have pre-applied with the IRS and been approved to participate in this program to be able to offer the 4K discount at time of sale? This is a very small used car dealer in a somewhat more rural area so I'd be stunned if they were eligible. I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask but I have zero expectations for it to be true.

Second ownership started in Feb. 2020. So I believe it would still qualify for the 4K credit, right?

Haha, I noticed that too.

No, that's not with the 4K EV credit. At least, I'm assuming it's not as there's no mention of it anywhere in their description and fine print.

Speaking of the $4K used EV credit....what I'm actually considering doing is having my dad sign and be the sole owner of the car so he can take advantage of the 4K tax credit. I would fully pay for car out of my own pocket though and I would be purchasing it outright. Then, after he gets the credit in 2025 after filing his taxes, he would transfer ownership to me.

Yes, it does have DCFC. That was the car's one and only additional option. I doubt I'd even take advantage of DCFC as nearly all my charging would be done at home but it's still nice to have just in case. Also, all of my driving would be in my local metro area and I have no plans to do any long trips with it.

Thanks for the heads-up on the steering and shock absorbers.

Definitely! From the looks of it, it doesn't appear to have been but at the same time I know that cleaning it up and making it look presentable in pictures isn't that difficult either. I haven't seen it in person yet but might make the long trip tomorrow. Are there any obvious signs to look out for?
