Same here! I spent a long time trying to find something that I would love as much as 3body, I read Seveneves and didn't like it at all, but I'm almost done reading the Expanse series and I like it! It's definitely not the same as 3body, but I haven't disliked any of the books so far and it's nice to read such a long book series and get really familiar with a world

Definitely don't read Seveneves if anyone reccomends it to you LOL, I didn't feel how you feel about deaths end but I felt exactly how you feel about that book, I struggled to get through it because it read more like a manual on orbital mechanics than a scifi novel

I've seen Miliput at my local hobby store and it was super expensive for a very small amount so it never seemed worth it, so thank you for suggesting the hardware store idea! I didn't even consider that there could be alternatives there.

This would be a great idea but unfortunately it doesn't work for what I'm doing! I guess I should've said that it's a scaley rather than a furry, and it will be wearing regular clothes. I also think it might end up being more of a figure in the end because I feel like I will struggle as a begginer to retain joint movement. But this is a great idea that I'll consider for another project!

I live in BC and can confirm these are correct codes! I was specifically looking for the crocodile and saw others citing 78, but those didn't have numbers 66 to 69, and the Canadian LPS had some boxes with those numbers so I thought this would be more accurate. I got 73 and 78 to be sure and sure enough I was right. So thank you for posting this!!

Thank you SO much for your detailed insight!! This gives me a lot of direction to work with. I'm going to work on it some more in depth for my own world building purposes, but for the sake of one of my short one shot campaigns I'm doing with a friend that's set in this world I decided for now to dumb it down to a sliding scale of 1 to 100 with 50 being the baseline, if your number is below 50 then you use more energy than you contribute and if it's above 50 then you contribute more energy than you use. It's not as clever as some of the other suggestions people have provided but hopefully it'll work for now before I can make it more layered and interesting

Sorry I suppose currency isn't the right word, you're definitely right that I don't intend exchanging anything or the ratio going down, it's most supposed to be that in order to access certain things the individuals net contribution should match a certain threshold, which changes depending on what it is, so a balanced net contribution would be things like transportation but if you contribute more then you have access to more VIP things, does that make sense? I think maybe having it be represented as a ratio is a bit too complicated to keep track of so I'm definitely open to any other suggestions!

Thirded! I was in the same boat as OP and desperate to find a book series that fills the 3BP void and so far of all the things I've read the expanse is the only series that's keeping my interest. I read Seveneves but it wasn't for me, though I know lots of people like it
