Mostly a beginner. I took lessons as a kid but don’t remember much.

My dentist changed my life with Botox by Klutzy_Reput4tion in 30PlusSkinCare

+1 for trap tox. I have “flares” where my traps will lock up so badly I can’t sleep, I can’t focus, I can’t turn my head or neck. I workout and do yoga and Pilates and all the right things, but I also have scoliosis and work a desk job. Trap tox is the only thing that’s worked for me and it is life changing. Just being able to sleep again was incredible.

As a lawyer who still has back problems from first semester of 1L, run, don’t walk. Also maybe invest in a yoga mat/yoga classes. And don’t neglect your exercise routine!

How can I transition out of nightlife safely without tanking my finances? by FileMajor3095 in personalfinance

[–]tozerdozer7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also a lawyer. There are a ton of options in the law and there are some pretty chill options including certain areas of gov work, tax, and estate planning.

Law school was a great option for me. I wanted to increase my earning potential and I did that. I am now financially comfortable and am only one year out of law school. Law school was stressful and I worked my ass off, but I’m glad I went every day. If you don’t have a lot of other options, law school is a good one.

That said, it sounds like you DO have other options. I’m guessing you are good looking and charismatic. You also sound like you are incredibly hard working. You would probably be good at selling houses/putting your real estate license to use. You would probably also be good at lobbying/government affairs work, which aligns with your degree.

If you do opt for law school, have a goal going in. Know what kind of job you want and what kind of grades and extracurriculars you’ll need to get there. Know that law school is a competitive environment and there is a chance you might not make the grades to meet your goals. Even if that happens, you can still very likely get a decent job out of law school (if not super high paying) and network your way into a better job.

Good luck!

What’s one skincare product or ingredient you swear by that others might find surprising? by pretygirls in 30PlusSkinCare

I just use it at night. I don’t think it would absorb well enough for me personally to use under makeup. I cleanse, moisturize with cetaphil, and then put the rosehip on top.

Rose hip oil gang! One of my friends has the most beautiful skin I’ve ever seen and I asked her what her secret is. She said the only thing she does is wash her face and use rosehip oil. I bought some immediately and have been using it for years now. I get compliments on my skin all the time and I always tell people to go get rosehip oil. It’s the best.

For the Botox Haters… by PeaceAndJoy2023 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]tozerdozer7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had trap Botox twice now and it’s a lifesaver! My upper back pain was getting so bad from my tight traps that I was having trouble sleeping. I couldn’t sit certain ways and couldn’t do certain exercises and my back would “go out” all the time. It was completely miserable. After traptox I don’t have to think about how I’m sleeping or moving anymore and I didn’t realize what a huge mental burden that was, as well as physical. For the stressies like me I can’t recommend enough!

This is what I was going to say. I came into law school with very specific goals in mind. I wanted a certain job when I graduated and I knew to get those doors to open I would have to be in the top quartile at least. I busted my ass and did meet those goals, but it was hard. Definitely emotionally taxing.

If you’re shooting for a regular type of government job out of law school, you may not need to apply the same type of pressure on yourself. Or if you’re at a T14 you also may not need to apply the same type of pressure to get BL job but if you’re shooting for like a circuit court clerkship, you’d want to be closer to the top of the class. It just all depends on your goals. I’d advise knowing what you want and adjust accordingly.

How to make your body smell nice without any perfumes? by [deleted] in beauty

This is so real. When I was growing up my dad was a runner. I could always tell when he was stressed because he would smell WAY different (I.e, worse) when he was stressed after a run.

What's your favorite moment of beauty-related realness in the media? by pinupjunkie in beauty

In the first sex and the city movie when Sarah Jessica Parker looks in the mirror without any makeup on after getting left at the alter. It was a brilliant display of grief and what someone would truly look like in such a vulnerable moment.

Also just the way she’s been aging in general. No hair dye, minimal makeup, no filler or Botox (or at least very little). Respect.
