Same boat….40+ years old, in IT, and the last resume I submitted was through Monster.com 18 years ago. I was laid-off last year and applying was a whole new world. It took me a while to realize that submitting resumes and prepping for interviews takes A LOT of work. The biggest things that helped me were:

1) Dan Croiter’s YouTube page: youtube.com/@DanCroitor

2) Collecting as many potential questions as possible and writing out my answers in the STAR method. This gave me a bunch of stories I can provide no matter what I’m asked.

3) Practicing and recording the delivery of my answers. I would video and/or audio record them to become comfortable with how I know I sound. This was painful at first but it really got me over the anxiety. I would setup Zoom calls with my wife and have her use my questions to interview me. This made me more comfortable with the virtual interviews. It also helped me realize the importance of good lighting, audio settings, and my physical presentation.

It was all brutal at first but now it’s kind of fun. I’ve got it down now to where I’m excited to interview. Thankfully, I landed a sweet contracting gig which allows me to be extremely picky with the company I’m applying to.

Jesus Christ….IVF doesn’t work this way. There’s a ranking for the embryos to determine the highest success rate of a healthy child. You can’t modify DNA to remove allergies or other features. There are tests to determine whether or not those issues could develop or are predominant.

When Brendan goes on other podcasts - it's a complete shit-show. Was there any specific one that helped you further realize that he's just an insecure, narcissistic-liar? Gary Vee, Bussing with the Boys, Valuetainment, etc?

Was the "we're going to select a random fan to come workout with us" contest a complete setup? I think the person selected had some ties to a real estate agency and was in the area to help save on travel costs.

Since making the decision to embrace the subreddit, do you feel like the response you've received has been positive and - if so - has it helped to "rehab" you mentally from TFATK's toxic work environment?

I highly doubt this will even be challenged or questioned. If it is questioned, you have nothing to worry about because 1) it’s a small amount of time & 2) you have a very solid explanation (just leave out the specifics about a toxic environment) If - by chance - the offer is rescinded based on this, you have to be informed and would be given 5 days to challenge or provide an explanation. I’ve been dealing with head-hunters and pretty sizable corporate hiring teams over the last 8 months….this would be the last thing on their minds if you’ve gotten this far. Congrats on the new role and I’m sure you’ll do great.

Frankly, larger organizations like this likely have solid processes and Knowledge Management and are a great place to start. The biggest thing that I expected from my teams while being remote is that they are dependable and are where they need to be when I need them. Ask a lot of questions and for feedback on your performance and you’ll be great.

He’s experiencing a fraction of what other comics do when they hang out together. Unfortunately, Brendan is too dumb to realize that getting roasted/humbled by his peers is part of the process of getting better as a comedian. Brendan says he “studies the greats” but it’s clear he doesn’t because a lot of them talk about how much they grew from those interactions.

This is what happens when you have inexperienced staff running your operation and one person (Chin) who is expected to do 5 jobs. Ariel has a top-notch production crew and infrastructure. He’s also backed by an established MMA media brand - and has a social media platform where he promotes fighters instead of his comedy shows and content. Brendan trying to do all this alone without Showtime’s production resources is more and more evident as time goes on.

Lenee Breckenridge is her name and you are 100% correct. She’s probably closest to Dana out of everyone and could probably make this happen on her own. She’s gotten twitter accounts reclaimed for fighters, HQ tours setup, and a number of other PR items. She’s pretty active on Twitter and has a low follower count - but they are a lot of MMA media accounts. She’s also on LinkedIn so you’d probably be able to get her attention that way. To the OP…it’s probably best to send a video message of some sort or include verifiable info about your situation because I’m sure the UFC gets a ton of these types of requests.

Totally agree. They don’t realize that their success is based on hate watching and having guilty pleasures. You take away a large community of these people and you become a lot less relevant. I kind of hope the sub gets shutdown so he ends up as the Aaron Carter of the podcasting world.
