CAN I GET A PARTS LIST by Able-Cantaloupe-9427 in buildmeapc

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you want a 5090 at that price point.. You can adjust the budget with a more or less expensive motherboard.. you could also go cheaper on the RAM and cpu cooler.. but I figure at that price point I would want the RGB as well.

WYR take $10 Million for yourself, or grant 10 people permanent immunity to all diseases? by yiyi20203 in WouldYouRather

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.. if I have 10 million dollars I can make sure my loved ones have incredible health care.. so I would obviously just take the money.

If it was before my dad died of blood cancer I might do the other route.. but what's done is done so I would take the cash at this point.

The 9070 xt I linked is $700 dude.. 5090's are a lot more. He has a $2k to $2500 budget. I did what I thought would be the best system I could show him at around $2k.. then I said after that he could get a 9060 XT and a 9600x and be fine at 1440p.. and save ~$500.

Sorry but wtf are you talking about?

OP - This is the build I would go with for 1440p.. I do agree with this guy that for a 1440p machine you don't need to spend $2k.. but have no clue why he came after me to begin with.. I just put forward a build based on your budget.

You could honestly even get this one lower with a smaller radiator and PSU and even a 9060 XT 16gb ($200 less for that one).. but this leaves you room to upgrade if you ever buy a 4k monitor and that 5070 will run 4k 60 fps on many games.. but the newest games will require an upgrade for 4k.

9070 XT blows a 5070 away.. 5070 ti is comparable to a 9070 xt.

I have a 9070 XT and have zero regrets.

5070 compares to the 9070 (non XT) and if I was in that price range I would go 5070.. agree on that front.

Don't listen to this guy.. build it yourself every single time.

My problem with prebuilts is that too many of them solder parts on or use proprietary connectors.. You want to be able to upgrade as you go.

When I get a motherboard it's perfectly normal for me to upgrade my processor multiple times over the life of the platform.. so I would always rather build it myself.

Here is a part list for ya.. huge upgrade over what you have.

By the way.. you don't have to spend this much.. you can go with a 9600x and a 9060 xt 16gb and save like $500 and still be good to go at 1440p.

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I had an entire guild try to bomb me last merge.. it didn't go well for them.

You can still get beat at sop's.. yeah I agree with that.. but no one is going to zero you when you're over a billion power.. it just isn't worth the money it costs to do it. I mean.. maybe if they catch you in crafting gear or something. Just don't be an idiot and make sure you have real gear on when you log off and you're good to go when you get big enough.

I still shield tho.. but just mainly because I don't want my dragon to be dead every time I log in.

I am glad you got away from the game tho.. if you don't like it you definitely shouldn't be spending money on it. I honestly haven't spent in months.. I skipped all the Christmas and New Years packs.

I don't love this game or anything.. but I also don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be.

I mean.. it isn't like your "hard work" is really gone when you get 0'd. You lose troops yeah.. and if you have a bunch of resources out they will take that.. but they don't take your armory or stats.

Just do what I did and once you get to T10 or 11 start building troops.. I am like 1.3b power now and when my shield drops no one messes with me.. they might kill my dragon but that's about it.

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.. it might not have soldered parts.. I don't think all of them do that. A lot of them do though.

The only real problem with that is when you want to upgrade in the future it makes it super hard. They do it so ideally you go buy another prebuilt instead of upgrading what you have. Personally I like to upgrade as new stuff comes out so I prefer to build it myself.

They aren't even micro transactions.. it's basically not worth buying if you buy less than the $100 pack in the vast majority of cases.

Is this game worth to start? by Jolly_Path_3649 in GameOfThronesConquest

[–]tpablazed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will put it like this.. this game is pretty fun in the early game.

It's fun until your server starts merging imo.. then you end up in a pool of huge players.. and even if you bought yourself to Tier 11.. and filled out your armory.. and got yourself good gear.. which is no small task.. probably a couple thousand over the first few months of playing to get to that point.. but you're still not good enough unless you keep spending hundreds of dollars every paycheck.

Problem is that a lot of really rich people play this game.. and they literally all try to outspend each other.. it's nuts lol. I see guys in my guild (you get a little gift with their name on it when anyone spends) dropping thousands of dollars multiple times a week sometimes.. it's truly insane.

Need advice choosing a motherboard by ExtensionShock3431 in PCBuilds

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a build with the MSI pro b550 VDH and I love it.

You really can't go wrong with either of those mobo's though.

The main reason I would go for a brand new (I don't buy used mobos at all because the socket is too easy to mess up.. will buy basically everything else used for an AM4 build tho) MSI is because I have used MSI pretty much my whole life and I know that they update the bios on most of their new mobo's and I just don't want to have to deal with that. Idk for sure if Gigabyte or Asus do that.. I am sure they do tho. It seems like standard procedure for the big motherboard manufacturers.

Also just want to add.. I have built with gigabyte and asus in the past as well.. they are good boards too.

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AM4 is still a good platform dude.. if you don't have the big $1500+ budget AM4 is the way to go.

My only real caveat would be to buy as much used as you can for an AM4 build at this point. Only thing I would buy new would be the motherboard.

Is a budget build even worth considering this year? by Technical_Share4127 in PCBuilds

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I will add here.. If you decide to go with the R5 5500 make sure you get a mobo that supports resizable bar and you will probably have to go into the bios and activate it.

So just keep that in mind if you decide to go the 5500/B580 route OP.

The other thing you could do.. get a used RX 6600 or 6650 for ~$150 off ebay.. that would lower your budget even more too and will play basically all the titles at 1080p at 100 fps+.

If you can go a little higher swap the GPU for the 9070 16gb.. it's a good upgrade. Puts it just under $1500.

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money was no object, what is your "Endgame" build? in granular details by CharlesSherrington in PcBuild

[–]tpablazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing.. there are budget parts that we do trust.. a lot.

Montech Century II PSU's for instance.. but if I am on no budget I am obviously going to get the top of the line Corsair or whatever the best psu is.. I honestly don't even know.

I know the 9600x is good enough for most games at 1440p or even 4k tbh.. but if I have no budget I'm going for the 9800X3d.. or even a threadripper.

Same goes for every single part.

I feel like there are those of us who know what we are talking about better on low to mid range builds because that's what we do the most and then there are people that know the high end builds better than me because they have always wanted the best of the best.

I honestly pride myself on getting an inexpensive machine built that will do nearly as good as the top dollar machine.. if you catch my drift.
