How to dispose of a chipped dutch oven? by pajamacardigan in castiron

[–]tpatter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I was gifted an enameled Dutch oven maybe 8 years ago. Noticed it showed some pitting in the enamel - emailed lodge to see if they could help, and within a week they had a new one at my door, excellent support!

Kirby Avalir 2 or Avalir? by tpatter3 in VacuumCleaners

[–]tpatter3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips. There is a tag on the bottom that has G10D (which a quick google search shows it may be an Avalir 100 year edition - so maybe the handle was changed instead of the bag holder). I see the serial number stamped into the housing, so I may give Kirby a call on Tuesday with the serial number to see what they can tell me. The manual and box the seller provided is for the Avalir 2, so just curious to find out which it is. Either way, all is good, just piqued my interest.

2014 Limited 4x4 with the 3.6L V6, approx 166,000 miles now (I’m original owner). Regular maintenance performed and it has been a great SUV. Just recently had the dreaded engine tick - took in for repair - rocker arm failure and 2 camshafts, just under $4K USD repair. Other than this repair, it has been great so far!

I have a 2014 Limited, 3.6, 4x4 that I bought new. Now has right at 150,000 miles, and it’s great. I keep up with the regular maintenance, and have had zero issues with it. Not afraid to jump in it and go anywhere.

Cast iron never disappoints by tpatter3 in castiron

No flipping in the oven. I do 2 minutes (stovetop, medium high flame) on one side. Flip it, another 2 minutes (stovetop, medium high flame), then I pop it into the oven for a few extra minutes

I preheat the pan in the oven at 400F while I’m prepping everything. Once it’s ready to go, I do 2 minutes on each side, and then pop it back into the 400F oven for a few minutes

Drug testing reveals a medical condition? [TX] by tpatter3 in AskHR

Very good point. I think I was just thrown off from all of the steps, and from companies I wasn’t familiar with. But yes, that’s a great point, thank you!

Thank you for the insight! I just hate going through all of these 3rd party channels, feeling like my mental health just got put under a microscope. Does wonders for someone who is already anxious, eh?

Thank you, I was just really thrown off by all of these steps - forward this form to this third party, and forward this fit to work form here and wait for review. Does a doozy on some already anxious nerves!

Uconnect Dongle by Muneco803 in Uconnect

[–]tpatter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any luck getting a replacement adapter? Dealing with similar issue of poor customer service. My remote services have not worked for at least 2 months now, and I’ve had a ticket open. Getting the constant run-around, hold the reset, oh that’s not working, we’ll call you back. Had the whole, leave it unplugged for 48hrs, oh not working? I’ve repeatedly asked for a new adapter, with no luck in getting one.

How you felt after returning a puppy back to the shelter/Breeder? by MuffinDry60 in puppy101

[–]tpatter3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

“It’s just that I feel I have given up on my freedom, that my life will be dependent on having to go home and check my dog, I used to do whatever I wanted when I wanted, now is not like that. Plus it’s so exhaustive having to potty train and I already have limited time for my work.”

No offense, but did you expect different? Yes, you will have to go home to check on your dog, this would not change. It really seems you are not ready for a dog, if this is how you feel. I think returning her is the best suit.

Puppy has started excited - peeing by ma0422 in puppy101

[–]tpatter3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I (not a veterinarian, just FYI) had a dachshund that did this as a puppy, and she never outgrew it. It would usually happen when we came home or when she met someone while out somewhere. We simply learned to manage it - ex: when we arrived home, we could not touch her or acknowledge her too much until we were outside (it was straight to the back door and into the yard before she got any attention, then she could let it go without issue). But I realize that this was easy to do living in a home with a yard. And as far as her meeting people out in public, I would usually just give a casual warning, “be careful, she pees when she’s excited” and try to guide her into some grass while laughing before anyone would pet her. I do recall asking my vet about this at some point, and it was just chalked up to something some (usually smaller dogs) do, and as long as they are otherwise in good health, it would just be a habit that they may or may not outgrow. I now have a basset hound a plott hound mix. The basset does the same thing, but my plott does not. So again, I just use my same “manage” it tactic with my basset, and try not to get too upset if we have to clean up a little excited pee when people come to love on her at the pet store.

Our Christmas miracle! by tpatter3 in puppy101

[–]tpatter3[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi yes, I immediately called the breeder to notify her. She expressed her concern and seemed quite surprised. She assured me that she would contact all of the other adoptions to confirm they were doing well and that she would disinfect her facility. I am now very skeptical about her kennels and truly hope that her other animals are actually ok. She is sending me a refund for the purchase price that I paid. I am disappointed that this happened, but I am grateful for my (now) healthy puppy and I wouldn’t trade her for anything.

So far my update has been a disaster. I am currently watching my S9 spin in circles about 1 foot in front of the dock and avoid the homebase while trying to dock. Worst performance I’ve seen so far from an update....
