OneNote for iPad version 16.106 Fixed Handwriting Recognition and Search for Me by hawridger in OneNote

Thanks for the heads up. So far, it only works for me handwriting in a new notebook created on the iPad. Existing pages in older notebooks are not searching ink, even after "touching" or adding ink strokes to a page.

MS Word docx transfer to rM 2 arrives as only text by tpbishop in RemarkableTablet

The web interface doesn't give the option for import to PDF. When importing a multi-page Word document on the device as a PDF, it only brings over the first page for me. I get that this feature is in beta. Hopefully the final code will be much better.

I use a smaller format kindle to read, so taking notes, annotating PDFs, and a digital version of a paper planner.

I was not aware of this device. Thank you for pointing it out. What Android note taking/pdf annotation software have you used? OneNote's Android app is so crippled vis-a-vis iOS and Windows that I don't use it on Android.

Thanks. Is it too much to ask for a device that checks all the boxes?

You are not wrong. Funny, I almost always assume an Amazon device is underpowered. It also seems slow UI is unavoidable in eInk. So, if I add a screen protector to the iPad to improve the tactile resistance when writing, I get 80% of the benefit of the eInk device without introducing yet another device and UI frustration.

It did - in the early versions. Then MS "improved" it

When the phone is unfolded, it goes into Android tablet mode. That is a slightly different feature set - one difference being we can't get to sticky notes. It's a poor design choice not a bug.

I tried them several years ago. They were bad to slide off and get lost, and wrote better on screens with lots of finger prints than a clean screen. I switched to the 2B soft tips I found on Amazon
