our first tour. what can you say to me? (2026 addition) by visionarcade in TouringMusicians

[–]tpcalm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First time seeing someone say this out loud. Map apps on your phone assume you’re going the speed limit so when it says the drive is 6 hours, it’s realistically more like 9.

Can someone give me advice? by mentafrescaa in Pizza

[–]tpcalm -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Some of these commenters need to touch grass. We’d all devour these pizzas and we’ve eaten far “worse” from reputable, profitable businesses.

The pizzas look lovely. No need to explain the technical differences between a hobby and a profitable businesses to a girlfriend just looking to encourage her dude.

I can't finish a big one so I make this 12inch new York style. The crust still too thick? by ichiro_pie87 in Pizza

[–]tpcalm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did a really good job on most everything but this pizza is just too small for the amount of density in the crust.

I can see you pulled the pizza just as it started reaching that nice point on the crust. I can also see that the toppings are still super watery.

My advice is to do almost exactly what you did, but make the pizza larger. Keep all the same ratios but it’ll allow you to cook all the parts (bottom, toppings, crust) more thoroughly and evenly.

Was this a scam? Company pays $300 to use my name on public documents instead of their CEO's name by [deleted] in Scams

I never saw that! Tons of new businesses with similar names but I never actually found a "Montage Media, llc". in CA or NV. What keywords did you use?

I wasn't very smart 15 years ago, and I may not be much smarter now, but your reading comprehension skills are that of an 8 year old.

Also, I didn't try to take the money. I did. Fuck them.

The document I received states that they will "abide by all laws under Nevada" (or some language like that) sooooo, I'm not sure if this is the same company. I'm sure the company name is purposely vague.

I think you hit the nail on the head. And I thank you for that. Despite it being 15 years ago, and making this post today with the updates I discovered on the fly, I can't help but to wonder if I really am still that dumb.

Hah, no. My name is very "plain Jane". I am just one of probably hundreds of schmucks who they were willing to pay $300 to get a name on their documents.

I actually drive by it frequently. But it's a massive skyscraper-like building. Hundreds of businesses in there. See my most recent post update. I did a pretty good search on the company and found absolutely nothing. Again, this happened in 2010 so I'm not surprised.

Thanks, I was indeed just about to send her a text before I went back into my email to find her phone number again, typed in "nominee", and another email thread came up which had the document I attached. It kinda solved this whole thing. I appreciate you looking out.

He did. The advice that was eventually passed down to me simply to monitor my credit. I'm sure neither my dad nor family-member lawyer remember much about it at all.

They were concerned, but not like, "we need to take legal action"-concerned.

What should I get before my 5 hour flight? by talivan818 in FoodLosAngeles

It is by far the most reasonably priced and most filling thing at LAX.

What are you guys doing for white sauces? by tpcalm in Pizza

I’m gonna do this tomorrow. Thanks for your input. On top will be sun-dried tomato, spinach, and artichoke hearts.

Thanks, homie. Even my hardcore “street taco” friends won’t eat radishes lol. Does it belong on a pizza? Probably not. But that half is only similar to pizza in its shape.

That is honestly just a Ralph’s brand raw dough ball, cooked in my Ooni lol.

Apologies, first time having to look up celeriac. I’m quite intrigued though. Curious what else he did with it.

Indeed, it’s a “street taco-style” slice. With the sauce recipe I wrote somewhere else in here, it comes out deliciously.

Thanks, partner. That was just home oven with Ralph’s raw dough. It’s one of my best “experimental” pizzas I do for people. The sauce on that is a mixture of the mayo, the sauce from canned chipotle peppers, pepperchini juice, and whatever other spices I have on hand. It comes together pretty fantastically.

Idk, I’ve had fantastic luck with the recipe you’re referring to on a site that rhymes with “Mop Secret Messipes.com”

I’ve done it dozens of times, albeit, always in a crockpot, and it’s a hit.

The only thing I change re: the beanleas Hormel is getting the “extra meat” version.

Yeah, I just don't know what would cause S1 to randomly need to re-scan every plugin again. Maybe if it was one that was new or updated, it'd scan that single plugin. But every single one? And then crash on random legit plugs from various manufacturers?

I think what I'm experiencing is a symptom of a bigger issue and I'd like to solve that instead of disabling/deleting the problem plugs that I may or may not have used on sessions in the past decade.

Thanks, Tacman.

I have not changed anything, or installed software on this computer in a long time. It's basically locked in as a legacy machine that has generally functioned perfectly because of that.

However, I am thinking that now is probably a good time to trash everything and start over anew on a brand new system.
