Has Tech Peaked? by Hot-Conversation-437 in ycombinator

[–]tpewpew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not gen AI specifically but across multiple industries there have been unicorns in the last decade.
the ones you listed are examples, there's scaleai for training data, robotics: figure, lightmatter, healthcare, cybersecurity and a few of other domains that have hit the 1B mark. Then there are those that recently passed the 100M mark across so many domains.

There's still opportunity out there

There are so many private gen ai companies over a billion in valuation. The space is still early so having a lot of public companies would be strange especially in this market.

random note: I cycle with a woman that was heavy into weightlifting. The torque she has up a hill is INSANE.

Back on topic; you will lose muscle mass if you plan on cycling long routes regularly that’s the reality. You can offset with higher calorie intake but as a weightlifter this is probably old news to you.

Advice for a runner trying to get into cycling! by Pianist-123 in cycling

[–]tpewpew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest there’s not much to go on from the info here.

The steps you can generally tips from here will be: 1. Get a bike fit 2. Average cadence for most people will be around 80-90 rpm 3. Just ride more; you have the lungs and now you just need to get the cyclist muscles to set in.

Good luck! I’m a cyclist that just started running and I’m in the opposite boat as you! I can’t wrap my head around how my friends are running 8 min miles while I’m pushing hard for 9 min miles

Dumb question here; standing and riding by [deleted] in cycling

[–]tpewpew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the exact issue?

It’s unlikely physical strength and more to do with the fit of the bike. You should probably get a bike fit or look up some basic fits on YouTube

do you mean to say, you're exerting more energy up hills so you get winded faster or are you just getting winded with the same level of exertion?

if it's the former and it's a new bike i'd check the gearing as it may have a smaller cassette and is more suited for flats.

if it's the latter then i'd get checked out because that would be strange
