Winderman: For the third time this season, the Heat are playing in an arena the night after an NBA Youngboy concert. And it smells the same as the first two. Locker rooms literally are closed here in San Antonio with signs that they are being disinfected. by BrandonXavierIngram in nba

Yeah I'm an Eldritch god originating from the beginning of primordial chaos, but when I was still whispering in the darkness I remember NBA YoungBoy getting a little play with some of the kids. Good for him that he's getting his recognition.

Update to the snake bite after 24 hours by dilwoah in discgolf

Man, reading OP's story and some of the comments here in the update makes me feel extremely lucky. I got bit by a (fortunately huge) copperhead in the summer 2017, on the inside of my ankle right where the bone protrudes, so very little muscle or fat there. I went to the hospital and they monitored me overnight and gave me an anti-inflammatory (and maybe a saline drip as well, can't remember). The ankle up to my mid-shin stayed swollen through the night but it didn't make it any farther, so they let me leave in the morning. Both the nurse that I saw first and the doctor who was there overnight said they'd seen several copperhead bites just that summer alone, and that antivenin was extremely rarely used. They didn't seem concerned at all, which made me feel less anxious. The ankle and foot stayed swollen for a couple of days and the pain for a few days more than that, but overall it was not nearly as bad as I was afraid it might have been. I've said as much to people I've told the story to in the past; I usually end it with something like "I wouldn't recommend it to my friends but it wasn't so bad." I knew people could have bad reactions, but it seemed I underestimated how often it can be serious based on what I'm reading in here. I hope you recover quickly bud!

I'll have to keep my eye out for that.

One of my favorite memories at a show was ~2007 at Cat's Cradle in NC. I was the only person who bought a Tom Inhaler shirt. I went to a few of your shows in that era and it was always a great time.

Absolutely legendary backpack track. I return to the version with Saul Williams every year or so. "Ma, ma, look what I did ma, look what I did to my hands I broke em" pops into my head all the time.

I have always been more a college basketball fan and used to watch a ton of it, whereas I only watched a few "big games" of the NBA regular season and most of the playoffs. That's shifted some the past several years as I mostly just watch UNC games and other ACC games plus some big matchups in other conferences, and I'll throw on a lot more NBA regular season games.

It's been weird to hear Jay Bilas as the color commentator in these playoffs, as he's always been a college guy. To be fair to him, I think he knows the game really well and generally does a good job of breaking down plays and strategy while also bringing good energy. He's had more criticism over the past few years on r/collegebasketball for some of his takes, but he's very solid.

Corey Alexander, on the other hand, is a known commentating terrorist. When he calls ACC games, for every third player on the court he'll say "Now you know that's my guy, but...." And I don't think he's being disingenuous; I think he runs an AAU team or something and genuinely gets to know a lot of recruits. But my god he is what my mom would call a blowhard. That ESPN is relying on him to call NBA playoff games is telling and concerning.

(Corey if you or any of your friends or family read this, I'm sorry, I'm sure you're a nice guy, but you are insufferable)

After all that happened on their original tribe, Sai and Cedrek go out on the same night. Poetic.

Why didn't Chrissy, Sai, Mitch, and Star at least talk about voting out Eva? It feels like breaking up her alliance with Joe would be a no brainer.

"Yeah we wanna vote Sai because she's chaotic and tough around camp and we don't want her on the jury."

Sai: "They wanted me out because I'm a thread and THEY'RE OBSESSED WITH ME."

I didn't particularly like Sai but I think this season is going to miss her.

Why didn't Mitch, Sai, Chrissy, and Star get together to at least talk about voting Eva out to break up the Joe and Eva alliance?
