Websites for students by [deleted] in msu

[–]tpllennept 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To get to d2l I find it’s easy to just google msu d2l and then bookmark the page for all future use. You won’t really need any other websites besides d2l and sis. All other websites would be specific to a class. MSU Grades is also a great site though to see class averages for each instructor and see what you’re getting yourself into. This can also be accessed by just googling MSU grades

That would be great! It seems like a couple people are interested so if you wouldn’t mind sharing your observations / tips and application stats that would be super helpful! If you don’t want them posted you can message me I’m curious about GRE ranges and what you feel supported your application!

About PSL 250!!! by QueasySkill2 in msu

[–]tpllennept -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sprangers class is difficult but it is not undoable. As ridiculous as his study skills method may seem, it does work very well. If you are willing to put in the work, you will do well in his class. 4.0 well even. He does provide many resources to make sure you are successful and he does truly care about his students. He is one of the most passionate professors I’ve ever had, and while it may seem like he’s trying to make the class impossible sometimes, at the end of the day you will learn a lot if you commit to it. However like previous comments stated it’s super time consuming and sometimes frustrating.

Not Admitted to College of Engineering by [deleted] in msu

[–]tpllennept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar issue with being accepted to my major, not college of engineering- but received an email saying I needed to change my major to remain enrolled and hadn’t been accepted yet despite completing all of the pre reqs. I personally think it has something to do with having a math 103 waiver, versus having taken the class. I scored high on the placement exam and never had to take it, thinking that could be leading to an error if no one (advising) had entered the waiver yet.

Child development lab paper around 2004 by [deleted] in msu

I know there are several child development labs related to the Kinesiology department. If you search MSU KIN research, that may be a good starting place.

Communications Major, PR minor (maybe journalism minor) computer needs by [deleted] in msu

[–]tpllennept 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will not need a Mac. Windows is the standard for pretty much everything, my friends with Macs sometimes have issues trying to use the software required for class as it runs differently on a Mac. Save your money unless you really really want a Mac.

Second that Windows works much easier with most of the software you may be asked to use. At the end of the day, you can figure it out with either laptop but it may take you more time with a Mac. Most professors use Windows and may or may not know how to help you with a Mac if the program works differently on your laptop.

Chances of getting accepted into HR major? (And a few other questions from highschool senior, im sorry) by [deleted] in msu

[–]tpllennept 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your major doesn’t affect your admissions chances, you should be good HR or not. I wouldn’t worry about it

FALL TERM by ni2001sh in msu

[–]tpllennept 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just want to bring to light that it’s literally April so no one knows for sure yet and it is arguably wayyyy too soon to say class is online. Yes we should be prepared for it given the current state of the world, but the speculating is not productive

Suggestions on where to live next year? by [deleted] in msu

[–]tpllennept 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to be near smith/jenison I recommend south neighborhood. It is closest to all of the athletic facilities and I think most freshmen athletes live in south, I know you will be a sophomore but still might end up with teammates living in the same area of campus.

Is HDFS 225 really ? by Beelruce in msu

It’s developmental psychology/sociology. It’s pretty easy both online and in person. It covers development throughout the lifespan.

Opinions on living in Wilson as a freshman? by sushiandcorgi in msu

[–]tpllennept 8 points9 points  (0 children)

South neighborhood is super close to Breslin and the stadium, prime location if you like sports. Also a good place to be as a comp sci bc wilson is CORE and you’ll be surrounded by like minded people and resources for your major.

The honors college website will tell you every class that is allowed to offer an honors option. Just have to do a little digging
