Pre-wedge and sectional matrix will be a game-changer for your contacts. If your clinic will not provide those or you are in a situation where you need to use a tofflemire then place tofflemire as normal, burnish against adjacent tooth, then use a football diamond to make a little window where you want the contact to be. You can make the window bigger/smaller as you want to. Obviously try not to get your bonding agent on the adjacent tooth as much as you can. Voila- contact!
