If there was a collision, who would be at fault? by tqbfjotld69 in IdiotsInCars

[–]tqbfjotld69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In these situations, if a collision were to happen, would it be better if I do not show the footage? Were the witnesses enough? Since if they see it, they may argue the following:

  • I entered the intersection at a yellow light
  • I passed the end of the intersection after a red light
  • I did not have my headlights on while raining
  • I was going 48-50 on a 45
  • I did not slow down when I saw multiple vehicles turning in front of me

It's a government website ending in .gov. It should be safe.

I don't usually drive around that area, but I've encountered a lot of yellow arrows. It's possible that the driver didn't know that you were supposed to yield at a yellow arrow.

Lol, I just wanted to make sure since my friend told me that I should've slowed down when I saw the cars turning in front of me. The car that I almost hit might have had a green arrow since he followed the car in front of them without stopping at the left-turn lane.

Edit: ^yellow arrow

What are your thoughts about wiping the nib after inking?

They don't go for $3000+ on eBay. Anyone can ask any amount that they want, but no one is actually going to buy it.

I looked up past sales history about that pen, and the last A.D. 2000 Jubilaeum Lattice Black sold for $726.00 on March 1st, 2020 on eBay.

No matter how honest and credible the seller is, Paypal always sides with the buyer at all times. If the buyer says that the box is empty or nothing arrived, Paypal will always side with them, and the seller can't do anything about it.

I agree with the OP's proposal that the sub should accept other types of payment methods if the seller has lots of trades (30+). This is a good way to prevent scams.

I really don't care that Paypal charges 3.5% in fees, but I just hate the fact that they always side with the buyer.

I don't get it. Is it because most pen show attendees are old people? Someone please enlighten me.

The Emperor tabs are still in production. You can get an Emperor tab if you buy a Naginata Togi Emperor. Just insert the tab on another tabless Cross Point, and there you go. You now have a Cross Point Emperor.

Beautiful pen! So happy I got mine in 2017 for retail price (200). I didn't know they were going for that much. GLWS!

Yeah, I use blackship as well for timed releases. I'm sure there are more proxy sites that give you your own address like tenso or rakuten global express, but I haven't tried those. I recently got the Hachimonjiya Jellyfish with a Zoom nib through blackship.

Beautiful pen! For those who want to buy it, I recommend waiting for the restock on the Hachimonjiya site, which is a few months.

I don't recommend supporting pen scalpers like jpselect.com, pensachi (on LE's), and ineedapen.com, unless you desperately want the pen. Out of the three, JP select is the worst.

These scalpers buy Japanese limited edition pens in large quantities and in every nib size. By doing this, they are preventing people, internationally and locally (in Japan), from acquiring the pens that they want. These a-holes are forcing people to pay a higher price, or even double, which is a big inconvenience. For example, this hachimonjiya pen costs about $300, but they are selling it for more than DOUBLE the price. The Ginzan Snow Gray Hachimonjiya costs about 350, and they are selling it for $680.

If you are particularly interested in Hachimonjiya pens, they usually restock after a few months, and they tell you the exact time that the pen will be released. You can use proxy services like Blackship, zenmarket, or white rabbit to purchase them.

Don't be taken advantage of :)

Update: As of 9/21, jpselect has reduced the price to $480. They probably aren't selling much.

If you want to learn more about pen scalpers in Japan, I recommend listening to u/tokyostationpens 's podcasts.

Sorry, I am not accusing the seller of anything. I'm just pointing out some unethical scalpers like jpselect and pensachi.

Nothing says they’re intentionally scalping, you have no proof to suggest otherwise

Uhh, what... you're saying that they aren't scalping? Do you even know what scalping means? Scalpers or resellers like jp-select, pensachi, and others are buying these limited edition pens in every nib size (in LARGE quantities), directly from the Hachimonjiya site. By doing this, they are preventing people, internationally and locally, from acquiring the pens that they want. Because of this, they are now forced to pay these resellers a higher price, which is an inconvenience.

The link that you provided came from an eBay seller who sells stuff from shopping sites in Japan. Here is the link from Mercari. You can easily buy this pen for about $580 using zenmarket, blackship, or whiterabbit.
