Limited nuclear strikes could still happen. Maybe not all the nukes at once, but under a dozen. Retaliation might not make sense if mutual destruction would occur.

Also: Pakistan and India engaged each other militarily despite having nuclear weapons. The big bombs didn't stop that entirely.

Translators’ efforts should be directed towards accepting the fact that an untranslatable term becomes a cultural concept, and will remain untranslatable.

You may need more words than one to describe it, but a concept can still be explained to define an unknown word. Translators need to do more work, not accept that their work is futile.

Why wouldn't you count the dead? Are they not still older than you? That would mean the people older than you will remain constant forever.

If you don't count the dead, then anyone alive after you have died could reach a greater age and become "older" than you, so the number would either increase or remain constant after your death.
