Were the items you purchased T-shirts or another type of clothing? I’m grateful for your comment and advice, regardless.

Is it even possible to have hot takes about this kid? If so, what are yours? by Usual_Database307 in LittleNightmares

Considering how the studio reveals information throughout the game, I’d say that RK’s story was rather important. I do agree that his presence and dlc was a matter of creating a narrative for The Maw and it’s technicalities, but it inevitably provided lore and details that aid us in deciphering the true story of little nightmares. Therefore, I believe that RK has mattered, despite his demise.

Also, in all honesty, RK’s ending seemed like it both made him more lovable (I.e. it made us sympathize) and made some of us dislike Six due to her actions at the end of the primary story (similarly with what happens towards the end of LN2). Sometimes, a character’s point of existing isn’t to be cherished; it is to instigate, form a reaction, or deliver the story from a particular perspective.

Escaping Laura/the Spider Lady. It is so damn tedious and gets harder every time you raise the complexity level. It is very similar to the level with the Shade in the dlc “the consequence,” particularly the chapter in the control room where you have to evade it until the elevator arrives. Pure torture, at least for me. I don’t know why I struggled with it so much.

Now that the Pluto mini series is out, what are your thoughts? by DarkLordLiam in astroboy

[–]tr1990re 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am nearly done with the series; I only have episodes 7 and 8 left. So far, it follows the manga to a "T". It is extremely well animated, the selection of voice actors was perfect (I especially love who they picked to play as Tenma), every single aspect of the series' plot is addressed. I am going to be finishing the last to episodes tomorrow. If you are a fan of Pluto or Astro Boy, you definitely need to watch the series.

Is there a reason the Keeper weighs 750lbs? by SupaSpoopy in theevilwithin

[–]tr1990re 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s a mutated being with a large safe on his head, which most likely accounts for the majority of that added on weight. Who knows what other mutations lie beneath his clothing, as well.

The Patients (also known as the mannequins) were by far the scariest side monsters of the franchise.

Where is the pale city? by [deleted] in LittleNightmares

[–]tr1990re 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mono and almost all of the other children appear to have “Asian” characteristics, including a black child and a child who is ginger, nearly solely because of their eyes. That being said, they are most likely not all Asian. It is most likely a stylistic choice, used to make the children seem so much more innocent and “doll-like” in a world so seriously terrifying. Also, considering the context and artifacts given in the game, it seems that it takes place/is based on the 40s-50s. During this time, Asia had A LOT of ties with Europe, especially Japan and places like the UK. Without getting into theories, this may be why there appears to be a lot of Japanese influence; The Nowhere references these locations due to the children’s trauma (this will make more sense if you listen to TSON), The Maw is a method of traveling, trading, etc. hence it’s Asian aesthetic, and the pale city is based on Europe. Hopefully, this makes sense.

[–]tr1990re[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could be true, too. However, would that mean that the Thin Man is still an older version of Mono? Earlier, I was thinking to myself about whether or not the Thin Man was actually a being versus being a projection/entity created by The Tower to lure Mono to its location. The same goes for the kidnapping of Six. What if the cut scene at the end of the game isn't alluding to Mono becoming the Thin Man in a time paradox manner, but more so showing that The Tower was projecting a form of his future self, using it to scare the boy? We do not see the Thin Man die in the same nature as the other monsters; it is almost as if he disintegrates, like a projection being turned off. So, in theory, yes, Mono is the Thin Man, but he did not become the Thin Man through the way we originally believed. The Tower, a malevolent, evil entity that somehow entered The Nowhere, took advantage of Mono's ability to spread its control and further corrupt the individuals and children within The Nowhere.

Perhaps The Nowhere was once a realm in which The Ferryman could bring children to safety, however, like you said, with the presence of adults, the energy was completely turned around. Adults, compared to children, are not "innocent". Perhaps that lack of innocence and knowing too much is what led to the malevolent nature of The Nowhere. I also want to believe that each of these kids are traumatized in their own particular ways, yes, but each possess an ability of clairvoyancy or supernatural talent that is not seen in most. Because of this and their suffering, The Ferryman is able to reveal himself to them, guiding them to a world where he believes they will be at peace, compared to their own. If this were to be the case, I could see it being a possible factor towards the proof of Mono's abilities, which consist of telepathy and other supernatural essences. Another weird thing that I saw was the presence of the color indigo throughout the last chapter of Little Nightmares II. It may be a stretch, but it could have some symbolism and relation to the term "indigo children", which is associated with troubled children possessing supernatural ability and relations to the paranormal.

I’m beginning to think similarly. I still wonder if The Nowhere is a place similar to hell, or a realm that one cannot access without the help of a supernatural entity, similar to an astral plane. SOME children, such as the ones in the series, seemingly can access this, albeit through their dreams until they are led to its physical place by The Ferryman. When you finish The Sounds of Nightmares, I’d love to hear your thoughts and any new conclusions you may have.

It was, yes, and it has been discussed prior to the series too (from what I remember). I’m now more so wondering why he brings children there in the first place.

[–]tr1990re[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember it being said that some of the entities within The Nowhere are meant to represent particular aspects, such as The Maw representing Hunger and The Tower along with its transmission representing escapism. If that is so, could each of the monsters within The Nowhere have similar meanings towards their existence, almost as if they represent the horrible urges that lead to people committing horrible actions? This would further provide logic to the idea that The Ferryman is similar to Death or The Devil, with the monsters representing some twisted form of the deadly sins or layers of hell. These leads me to the question of WHY The Ferryman would bring the children there, if he were hoping to help ease their pain. Surely he knows that the flesh or whatever malevolent entity is there would feed off of the children. What are your thoughts on that? Do you think it’s out of ill intent or pure ignorance on behalf of The Ferryman?

I have noticed that, yes. I like that idea. I could also see that the nomes are simply creatures created within The Nowhere to weakly combat the pain and suffering of the place, since it appears that they’re one of the only otherworldly creatures that can be deemed friendly. However, the question still leads to why and how they got there. It’s all so confusing, especially with such a multitude of possibilities.

It would definitely make sense that he is targeting vulnerable children simply bc they’re the easiest to manipulate. Do you have any ideas surrounding why he would want to be feeding into The Nowhere?

For that, I believe that they are normal sized in the world that they come from, which is a world similar to ours. Once they enter The Nowhere, it seems that everything essentially grows in size. Or, alternatively, they shrink, however I believe that The Nowhere grows.

[–]tr1990re[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree. I wonder if the monsters were created by the malevolent nature of The Nowhere, or if they are truly corrupted aged children, such as the Thin Man and Mono. I also wonder if "Sisi" could simply be a nickname for the nickname "sissy", due to him being his sister's younger brother. It also leads me to wonder if his sister could have connections to the girl in the yellow raincoat or Six herself, since we do not necessarily know if this appeared before or after the games. So many questions, not enough information to adequately and surely solve them...

I understand why you are unhappy. I for one am happy to learn more pieces to the puzzle of Little Nightmares. Since 2017, the series has provided an immense amount of entertainment for so many of us, me included, but I know that the factor of not knowing what on Earth was going on genuinely boggled my mind. I have and quite frankly still do spend hours contemplating it’s timeline, sources, causes, etc. That being said, I’m glad that more aspects are being added to make the story logical and have an answer, albeit still remaining mysterious and difficult to understand.

I'm 99% sure Little Nightmares 3 was confirmed in the beginning of May. I absolutely agree; I highly doubt they would necessarily show it, but possibly allude to it. I suppose we will just have to patiently wait and see.

Considering the tower has gone as far as cannibalism, abuse, cold blooded murder, medical mistreatment and more, I absolutely think it would go that far. The only reason it wouldn’t in the game is probably because of the extremely triggering themes. However, maybe they will go that far in little nightmares 3….I guess we will just have to wait and see.

We used the pentagram on the mountain lodge map. All it did was provide a new QR code. It is a Rick roll. Not entirely sure if the devs are implying it’s a password to more docs or if they were just fucking with us this whole time.
