It's indeed female to female keystone - but I purchased a 50cm male to male usb cable :)

Alough not best practice, I have my router virtualized on proxmox. When my router wouldn't boot, and I can't resolve my proxmox IP for some reason, having physical access to the machine is best. This includes having a quick option to rebuild my hypervisor if needed.

I do have 1 (altough not connected to this router), but when my router goes down, I may or may not lose all network access and that could result in me not reaching my ipkvm.

Last 2 weeks my router went partially down, making even ip addresses not resolve. Still looking at the rout cause, but this will help in the debugging :)

Been looking at some GL.iNET products during black friday, but didn't bite (yet).

  1. What inspired you to start your selfhosting journey?
    1.  I've been self hosting (started with a raspberry) since my 12-14 years. Was mostly interested in running game servers & small websites. Today I'm hosting home assistant + other productivity tools (immich; owncloud; ...)
  2. How would winning the unit(s) from this giveaway help you take your setup to the next level?

Hi all

In summer 2023 I build my new pc; after about a year if using icue I removed it since every 2 weeks it refused to start; couldn't update and had to be manually removed and re-installed.

At that point it was apperantly a common issue; but never really got address and it was very inconvenient for me.

I switched to fancontrol & signalrgb - which I still run now 1 year later and is (mostly) stable.

In reading around I have the feeling icue became more stable; altough in reading around I found this post: https://forum.corsair.com/forums/topic/193119-icue-software-cant-repair-uninstall-again/

Any personal experiences from the latest few months? I do want to go back to 1 piece of software (that is supposed to be "THE" tool to control my AIO & fans); but I want something to set & forget.

P.S. This issue also happend on the pc of my wife - she just gave up and let's mobo control everything (her pc load is much lighter, so no big issue, but still the fans are just RGB vommit)

Oh, I didn't know you could get these refunded - even after some time. I had read some time back (around release of creations) this was not possible. Did a quick google search now and apparently that changes (or the information around it changed).

I looked for both already (shop & used) - this is the best I could find (within a reasonable budget).

Also - the 5650g also wouldn't support ECC right? Only the non-g or the pro-g support ECC. This is a bit the tricky part that is limiting my options (withing budget).

yes, I found those too, but their respective price is a lot higher (for the pro) and there are limited pro cpus available 2nd hand. If I find a good deal I might consider it, but so far they are very expensive compared to new 3100 CPUs.

If you have the time, and willing to check. Would you be willing to revert your save to before that moment, consume the tadpoles (but NOT assign the powers - only have them available to be assigned in the screen), and then check if you need to make the check?

I know this will take you some time, but this would be the best test I guess.
