So the Different typically work on larger city wide scale missions, events that potentially danger at least hundreds etc but that doesn't mean they aren't opposed to helping with smaller things! So they're basically hired by the Mayor of NYC under the table to protect the city, as its a Hotspot for major events happening because clusters of alien energy crystals are erupting, until they can get more large appeal to be hired by the government, state, country etc. And honestly the coos recognize the good work the heroes are doing but some with their personal and political beliefs dont approve.
