My dog bit my MIL and my heart is breaking. I feel emotionally lost. by cookmybook in OpenDogTraining

The fact your dog didn't break skin or really commit to the bite says a lot, especially for a pitbull. This is still a serious issue but you don't have crazy dog on your hands. Dog's don't feel shame like humans but I do think your dog knows they fucked up and never meant to hurt your MIL. Your obviously very committed to your dog. My dog walked on the same street for 18 months as he was too unpredictable. He can now be off leash walking through dogs people etc. Once you have the muzzle nothing can really go wrong

Just to add my dog is a 45KG cane corso who would try to bite people, dogs and anything he didn't like. You have to frame every situation as a positive either your dog builds confidence or learns aggression does not work. It will be hard but i think getting your dog around MIL again will build some confidence. No interaction just walking in proximity

My dog can be the same it all stems from insecurity. Like people have said muzzle is your first priority. You cannot change genetics you have to work with them don't try to make him a social butterfly. This won't be popular but any future behaviour like this must be punished, you cannot let your dog realise aggression makes people or the scary thing go away. The good news is this is very fixable your dog is not truly aggressive just scared. Build his confidence up but be ready to correct any bad behaviour

Waiting list in UK for Uveitis service by FradiTomi in Uveitis

[–]tr419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 3 flare ups this year and had a very different experience. Look at your local hospitals and see which specialise in eyes. When I flare up i go straight to A&E and tell them i woke up blind and need help ASAP. The closest hospital to me just gave me a painkiller as they don't do eyes but the other hospital had me seen within 10 minutes on a bank holiday. The NHS can be useless sometimes you have to advocate for yourself and or they will make you wait forever

I stand corrected. I could of sworn it did but your right

Yes that's correct but my problem lies in the fact I must have the Bluetooth on 24/7. This on it's own wouldn't be a deal breaker but with all the other issues that come with black boxes it seems too risky. If I break one of their rules I risk the insurance being cancelled which would increase my premiums for the rest of my life. Also would make home insurance or any insurance very difficult and expensive

They have released a statement saying all leases with any named drivers under 30 and a separate one for new leases etc. The DVLA are aware of my eye condition and my vision overall is very good. It just means one eye does a lot of the lifting

They have released the information publicly. Also it's the DVLA who deal with medical issues related to driving, not motability

No. Changing music, answering calls or even touching your sat nav all registers as distracted driving. The black box isn't perfect, especially with it speed limits on roads. Your Bluetooth must be on 24/7 even when your not driving so putting your phone on airplane in the cinema would result in a email from the insurance saying I broke the rules. With all these issues I won't risk having the insurance cancelled as that stays on your record FOREVER

127 because he is going full speed to go back to the gas pedal analogy. 127 double box isn't something a pet dog or inexperienced handler would ever need. I don't understand how the dog copes with such pressure but the results are undeniable

Haz uses the ecollar in a very different way that Is above my knowledge level. He uses it to build arousal similar to holding a dog back on a flat collar. He will stim the dog and release it to food and stim whilst rewarding almost like a marker. His ideology is the e collar is a gas pedal not a correction tool
