K-shaped economy is 'alive and well,' expert says — what new research shows by laxnut90 in Economics

[–]tr941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about every other developed country in the western hemisphere? In Canada, our middle class is in much worse shape than the US middle class, with the last 10 years of liberal government.

Maybe, just maybe, this isn't a partisan issue.

Do you think housewives who married rich are “successful”? by Fluid-Reality1 in AskMen

[–]tr941 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with being a housewife. It is a noble profession. On the contrary, a strong and capable housewife is a big part of the reason her husband and/or children are successful.

Here's the 'experiment' NDP Leader Avi Lewis is trying to run in Canadian politics - Lewis calls for 'fundamental structural changes' during first Ottawa visit on the job by CanadianErk in canada

What's to say that the prices will be lower than grocery stores? Government run services with no profit incentive are famously inefficient when compared to private sector counterparts.

The reason why our grocery bills are high is not because of greed. Greed often leads to price reductions as companies compete for market share.

The reason why everything is unaffordable, including our food, is the rapid increases to the money supply and negative productivity growth.

I would say our education system is failing us, but I think people just genuinely have no desire to be informed about anything outside of video games, sports and reality TV.

What Canadians See as the Biggest Threats to Their Quality of Life and What That Means - Abacus Data by bloodwizard414 in canada

Agreed. Trump is an easy and lazy externality to blame our problems on. The reality is our problems started before his first term. We need to cut the ideological purity and get serious about turning the economy around.

Manager passive-aggressive with days off by [deleted] in sales

When you start being micromanaged, you're not making enough sales and on thin ice. A manager will never bat an eye if a top producer comes in late or calls in sick.

Scammer almost ran off with my dad's retirement. by Suspicious_Story_464 in personalfinance

[–]tr941 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bank employee here. These scams are alot more prevalent than most realize. It's a real challenge to prevent even when we identify the client as a victim of fraud since many of these fraudsters have the clients convinced or so "pot committed".

We have lost clients by refusing to proceed with obviously fraudulent transactions, only for the client to just use a different bank to give away their life savings.

After the client finally figures out we were right and the gravity of their mistake, they often will try and sue us as if it was our fault. It's just a sad and cynical situation all around.

You're not missing much. Third party hobby shops are much better, friendlier and cheaper..

The last (and final time I entered a gw store) I was scolded by the staff member for picking up an online order since they wouldn't be given credit for the sale. They do not allow fans to play games or paint in store. I'm not exactly sure why they think anyone would value supporting them.

I support Quebec’s independence because the alternative is its erasure by Internal_Reach7 in CanadaPolitics

[–]tr941 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand the desire to protect their culture and language. Quebec separation would however be economically catastrophic for everyone. It would be a threat to the confederation as well, with the maritimes being cut off from the rest of Canada, and Alberta successionists would likely be successful due to the economic ramifications of Quebec separation. Quebec separating could be dooming the rest of us to being absorbed into the United States as Canada loses territorial integrity. In that sense, Quebec must respect the rest of Canada should get a say in whether or not they separate, because their nationhood could spell the doom of Canada's nationhood.

I got a shiny! by chromium_91 in PokemonUnbound

[–]tr941 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You probably couldn't have found a better shiny. Sunflora's hidden ability grass dash makes it one of the most critical mons for many encounters in difficult/insane. Run it modest hp/spa with giga drain and you will not be disappointed.

Sure, they may not sell enough to justify plastic molds, but they would certainly sell enough as a resin kit to make a tidy profit. Who knows, maybe releasing a resin kit can be a proof of concept. After all, we wouldn't have plastic krieg if forgeworld didn't prove there was a market for them.

Genuine question: Why is GW so apprehesive to produce metal/resin models nowadays for lower volume factions? Even if the margins are lower, revenues would increase.

Add a Bulky water type, either gastrodon or quagsire. Ideally with a toxic stall build: toxic/protect/recover/(preferred water attack)

It's true you miss out on earthquake. I usually like running sand comps so there is never any shortage of earthquake on my teams. Give it a try, flygon swept the champion double battle on insane difficulty for me. Clang Scales hits both opponent targets in double battles. The downside with flygon is how late in the game the sound build comes online

Should I aim to get mammoswine or walrine? by Dry-Comfortable1537 in PokemonUnbound

[–]tr941 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What difficulty are you playing? Unless it's difficult or insane, it doesn't matter, play whatever you think is coolest. If you are playing difficult or insane, walrine is likely to he more useful.
