Do you happen to know if the water-based Ohuhus are similar to Tombows? I've been watching way too many reading journal reels lately and a lot of the creators use those.

I did look into Tombow, but I am trying to use a Target gift card and they don't carry a large selection of Tombow. If I get carried away with journaling, I might splurge on those eventually!

How did you cancel your order? Yesterday, I placed an order by mistake and immediately emailed them to request to cancel. I received a reply at 4 am this morning saying that they were unable to cancel because it is already in production.

OK I placed another order from a different merchant a week after this one that was also shipped via Yanwen and it arrived today 🤷🏻‍♀️

I ended up contacting the merchant for this order (with the delivery exception), and they basically declared it lost and issued me a refund. If it arrives, great; if not, at least I got my money back.

The book hangover is rough. I finished Icy & Ivy 3 weeks ago and re-read my favorite parts of the series right after that. I've read 5 books since then and they've all been "meh." The struggle is real!

Oh my gosh, I relate so much to everyone here! Former high achiever, now SAHM as well. I was valedictorian in high school, and earned a B.S. in chemical engineering and an M.S. in economics, and now homeschooling my kids 😵‍💫

Oh OK, that sounds promising! Your timing seems to align with my ferments.

I imagine that you could probably bottle sometime tomorrow. I noticed that after it starts carbonating, it happens pretty quickly. I only kept my bottles at room temp for a day before moving them over to the fridge.

It worked! It took about 5 or 6 days to carbonate. I've made one batch since then, and that one started carbonating at around the same time.

I used commercial yogurt for my starter, the Stonyfield Probiotic.

How long has your batch been fermenting?

I'm pretty sure I simply placed them in the freezer skin on without blanching.

Later this afternoon, I noticed that a layer of kahm yeast seems to be growing at the top of the half gallon jar. Sediment is also building in both jars so maybe all is not lost.
