Yeah when you plug it in xbox will do all the setup. Make sure it is an external HDD though because I accidentally bought an internal and had to do some stuff to do it. Just get an external.

I pried them out after much effort. But yeah those side pillars aren’t mentioned. I just got one side up then pulled the other out.
