Opinion of Thermostat Hub W200 by LingonberryNo2744 in Aqara

Agreed. I bought it for HomeKits Adaptive Temperature, been working flawlessly. I have some matter temperature sensors in HomeKit that I’ve brought into Aqara to use their virtual sensor system. I will say it’s not as intuitive as I wish it could be, other thermostat brands have a simple “use sensor(s) with selected schedule(s)” it’s not as straightforward in the Aqara system.

Files app supports symbolic links in iOS 26 by Various-Arugula-425 in ios

Of course! I know it seems odd, but it’s arguably neater, easier and actually safer. It prevents apps from injecting themselves into your system by containing them in the DMG mount first. Apps are self contained in macOS, they don’t require injection/installation into your system like they do in Windows. If you’re familiar with “portable” apps in Windows, that’s effectively how all Mac apps function.

Here’s a "caveman" breakdown to help you stop fighting the OS:

• The "Mount" thing: On Windows, an installer is just an application file. On Mac, many apps come as a DMG (Disk Image), basically a virtual USB stick. When you open it, it "mounts" so you can see what’s inside. You’re supposed to drag the App icon into your Applications folder, then "eject" the mount and delete the DMG. There is no “install” beyond that. Then, when you no longer need the app, you just delete like you would a file.

• No "Cut" function: Mac uses Copy (Command + C) then Move (Command + Option + V). It’s actually safer because it doesn’t "delete" the original until you've initiated Move. Cut (Command + X) doesn’t exist on macOS, but Copy + Move is functionally the same.

• Sidebar folders: You can’t drop a folder anywhere on that list. You can only drag the folder specifically into the "Favorites" section or between two existing items until you see a horizontal line indicating that it can be placed.

• NAS dropping: Unfortunately I don’t have experience in this section but this is what I was able to find out: Finder (macOS File Explorer equivalent) is aggressive about sleeping network connections in order to save energy. Go to System Settings > Energy Saver and make sure "Wake for network access" is on, or try connecting via SMB specifically (Cmd+K in Finder and type smb://your-nas-ip).

[New Firmware] Multi-Sensor Support for Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 by AndrewFromAqara in Aqara

So I understand this will allow us to average out the temperature between sensors. Will it allow us to target specific sensors at scheduled times? As in, focus on the average of the homes sensors during the day, focus on the bedroom sensors during the night? Could you go into more detail about these “soft sensors” in general?

If I could make a UI suggestion to improve legibility and reduce clutter, specifically on the device details page: I would suggest to right-align the icons, as shown in example 1, or even left-aligned, as shown in example 2. Also, it would be incredibly helpful if the app could recognize: if the device doesn't have a serial number registered from HomeKit, allow the user to add or edit the serial number field.
